Did this happen? I played it from about 10pm-11:30pm last night and the only BETEO folk I saw online were all playing BurnyPee.

I was playing... but then I realised towards the end that I don't actually have very many people from BETEO on my Friend List.

I'll likely be playing tonight in the region of 8pm - midnight, so I shall add people from the big stickied list and see if we can get something going.

I'll reply to this later when the doctor's finished dealing with my rectal prolapse.

So who's bought the DLC map pack? Just wondering if it's worth my points to do so.

I haven't, yet. I probably will but as it's four new maps on top of the 30-odd the game seems to have it didn't seem all that worthwhile. I'll change my mind I expect after some more play.

I have done so. I think it helps to have them, as then if we all play online together it doesn't get messy, and we have more variety.

Of the maps...

1 - Creek. Big map. Has a ton of places to snipe. A village at one end, big creek (NO WAY!) in the middle, some tunnels. Am getting to grips with it, but it seems good for Search & Destroy and Deathmatch. People seem to favour this the most of the new maps.

2 - Chinatown. Smallish map that I am still confused by. Loads of small rooms in buildings. Good for SMGs, though an Assault Rifle is useful for poking out of windows and in to the street below. Games here tend to be hectic.

3 - Broadcast (is that the name?) - it's the television station from the single player game. I really like this, though at the moment people tend to bunch together in a couple of places, and fighting rarely takes place in the actual big room in the middle. I enjoyed playing Domination on this map, as it forces you to cover all of it.

4 - Killhouse. Haven't played it, but apparently on Free For All or a custom game with mates it is awesome. Very small map.

I'd definitely buy them unless you're feeling strapped for cash.

I have 3000 odd points racked up from Tesco, so I may dip my wick after hearing Curio's Curious Reporting.

*sighs with particular weariness* Okay... fine... I'll go and get it this afternoon.

Man, I never thought my most Bezzie Mates would be forcing me to go and get a game I hate, for money, just so I am able to play with them. I thought we were better than that *cradles copy of Halo 3 protectively*

Might get Gears of War again - watching Dave and Dimrill at it has made me fancy some Beezie Co-Op.

I hated CoD2 and CoD3, and would much rather play UT3 but not enough people have PS3s. So I bought CoD4 entirely to have something to play on the 360 (and also I hate Halo so that wasn't an option).

I enjoyed CoD4 much more than I thought I would though. Have you played it before?

I'll be up for this tonight. I played Bully for about four hours last night and then decided to go to bed at 9pm.

Yup. But not on multiplayer. Played the single-player for... some number of hours. Completely hated it utterly and totally. But enough so that I'm willing to give it another chance, because I don't remember the last time my opinion was so completely at odds.

I loved COD1 and 2, and bought 2 again the other day for the 360. Played 3 in singleplayer and found it largely awful, never played a COD game in multiplayer.

I have a PS3, but don't have UT3, or turn on my PS3. I'm actually considering it trading it to Gamestation, just since it'd help finance my 360 games-getting for a while.

Hurrah! We shall play CoD tonight!

This makes me happy as it means I can save money by waiting to buy Mario Kart until after payday.

Dickie, you're going to have to work over the Canadian to get him to buy CoD4, you know. I've tried over Live, but he's remarkably resilient to large bearded men.

It is a whole lote of fun. Finally got me my "Complete the game on insane difficulty" achievement. Would be willing to help others get it (as well as helping them become Dom-Curious)

And I'm up for some CoD4 tonight. Don't think too much of the single player mode, I'll admit.

I've been trying, as a small bearded man, but as you say, resilient. I'm not actually sure why he hasn't got it already. He might cave seeing as we're approaching a critical mass of players now.

It is a bit of a mystery since he whored out all the gamerpoints from 3.

So for tonight we have...

Curiosity
richardgaywood
Mr Dave
Dimrill
myoptika

and possibly CUS and Pundabaya, and a couple of my mates...

That is plenty of people and gives us lots of options to play with, both in the ranked games and in 'playing with ourselves'.

:D

Ironically I'm not sure at the moment if I'm on tonight or not. :( Seeing as how it was mostly me doing the cat herding to get people to buy it I will make every effort though.

I think you'll find that I was the one nagging Dimmers. And of course I'll turn up. The Bistro effort we had was quite good.

I am, I am quite, quite certain, the only person to buy COD4 on release day TWICE at full-whack, despite not liking it at all.

Spent an hour just now, searching Wolverhampton. I found ONE non-"Game of The Year" edition, and that was in such shite, abused condition that I almost threw it back at the bloke in CEX.

So, instead, having traded in some of my last few crappy 'other' games - otherwise, there was no fucking way - I have the GOTY edition. I now present a list of exciting differences in the GOTY edition:

It has a sticker to say it includes the 4 new multiplayer maps.
It includes the 4 new multiplayer maps.
It says "GAME OF THE YEAR EDITION".

The GOTY edition of COD4 is £49.99 in all shops now.

Stop making me need this game.

It's too dear.

I might hire it from Blockbusters though.

My Dad owns a copy I can "acquire" for a bit. He's finished it. I've never played a CoD game past the first few levels, and when I did the training bit in 4, I *just* managed it in time. I suck.

But if I'm about and there's a free space I'll try and shoot some bullets in someone's vague direction. Probably my own teams.

I had it, played through the single player and then traded it in.

I'd have kept it if I knew all the cool kids would be into it.

Late 40's. Both my Mum and Dad were gamers before I was even born, they had a Pong machine. When I was little I played on the computers we had, the first I have memories of is the Speccy (although it was the Amstrad version without the crap keyboard).

They also own their own Wii, and Xbox 360, complete with Guitar Hero, and my Mum has her own DS (and now do all her sisters too). In fact my Mum STOLE my copy of Chocobo Tales which Runcle kindly sent me and I must re-acquire it.

I jest. CoD4 is one of the few games I have been unable to find cheaply in the shops.
