I didn't think Birdman was a comedy, just rubbish.

Do you like zombie movies? Then watch The Girl With All The Gifts, it's great! And British! Make Britain Great Again. Etc.

Actually it's not great but it is good and hilariously pinches the story from The Last of Us. I sharn't ruin it for anyone cause I'd like to encourage people to watch it, but when two people work together to open a shutter you figure it must have been intentional.

Its got a great opener, a decent middle and then ... BAM ... the last twenty minutes are absolute dog shit. I can't understand how anyone watching this during a screening wouldn't have provided enough negative feedback that they'd have gone back and redone twenty minutes or cut it short and redone an ending sequence. It's a really great film for 135 minutes before a shit show of awfulness. I suppose it's a hangover that most zombie movies have. I can't remember a decent zombie movie ending outside of Night & Dawn of the Living Dead. Even The Walking Dead won't fucking end.

You should watch Some Kind of Wonderful for some Lea Thompson that doesn't make you want to kill everyone.

I thought it was good but even though I could see that some bits were meant to be so, so sad and I'm normally a sucker for that I was left feeling totally unmoved by it all for some reason.

It is not like the film.

So, Grim...'s favourite movie is on Netflix, as it happens. I quite enjoyed it, but it's no classic. Nothing of any consequence happens in the whole movie. Aside from a few shifted relationship dynamics, everyone comes out of the movie the same way they went in.

Also, Eric Stoltz is disturbingly softly spoken throughout. Like Michael Jackson with Ross Gellar's inflection. Weird.

Duncan was funny, though.

Shifted relationship dynamics are basically the whole point of the film. Amanda gets out of a toxic relationship, Keith gets a load more confident, tells his dad to stop trying to live through him, and, of course, he and Watts end up together.

Not seen the movie, but the book it is based on (by Mike Carey, comic book fans) is thoroughly enjoyable.

Last nights film was Left Behind which, I didn't realise until after I'd watched it, is described as an American Christian Apocalyptic thriller. It was terrible. The plot revolves around Nicholas Cage and his daughter. Cage plays an airline pilot who is knocking off one of his stewardesses all because his wife has found God. His daughter has just returned from college to spend time with her family but Cage is off flying a plane to London. She meets a famous author/journalist who happens to travelling on Cages plane later on in the film. During the flight, a load of people (mainly children) vanish leaving behind only their clothes. The same thing happens across the whole planet. The rest of the film is taken up with the plane truing to make it back to the USA while Cages daughter tries to find her brother and mom and also figure out what's going on. It turns out that all the people who have vanished are practicing Christians and God has taken them back to Heaven. There's a Left Behind 2 which probably carries on where this one left off and will probably explore what happens to the people left on earth because the budget couldn't manage a plane crash so it clearly can't manage Heaven. Anyway. It was terrible. Probably the worst film I've ever seen beating Open Water which previously held that accolade!

Shame. Incidentally, we had a female singer in this band and she was all kinds of awesome in both looks and vocal ability. The only problem was that she was extremely nervous about singing on stage and spent a lot of time before performing, throwing up. She didn’t last long as our singer.
