I assume so. It's been 40 minutes and nothing has happened.

Proper trailers for Superman and The Lone Ranger are available.

Superman is all portentous and rather dull...but I like the look of Zod, Yay go Zod, kick his arse.

Lone Ranger at least looks fun.

The Superman trailer just gave me goosebumps! I am quite looking forward to the film and I have been for some time.

Yes. Stuff definitely happens.

And I could have told you 'Expendables 2 is better than the first' doesn't tell you much...

Yeah, you can tell it's Nolan alright - even Superman himself is brooding and mopey! :p

Another origin film, too. Almost no superhero comics began with the origin story, and yet the films have to, it seems.

Pacific Rim trailer is out and the film is looking silly, very silly indeed...in a brilliant fun way, kind of thing, that if it was done in Japan would all be men in suits for a millionth of the budget.

Man, I don't know what to think about this Hobbit malarky. Three films, each three hours? That seems dangerously long-winded to me. Also the 48fps has me furrow-browed in concern. I might see this on the weekend, but the lukewarm reception out there is giving me jittery Phantom Menace fears.

It worries me no end. I'm a massive Tolkien bender, as you may already be aware, and I'm not sure I want to go and see someone pissing all over my loved ones. The first film only gets to the end of chapter 6 in the book. That's just after Bilbo's escape from the Goblin caves on the back of the eagles. I really have hard times envisaging half an hour a chapter dragged out onscreen. I can imagine it being more than annoying.

Over nine hours of film for a 300 page children's book can get to fucking fuck; I've gone from considering seeing it in the cinema to thinking about grudgingly adding it to my Lovefilm queue.

Bear in mind that only the first two flimums will probably be The Hobbit. Originally the plan was The Hobbit to be one flim, the other covering the time between that and Lord of the Rings. Again, that second one is enough to start a warning klaxon in my head. Extrapolating a story from the fragmented notes of Tolkien's work would be difficult without wholesale making shit up.

Isn't it Rise of the Lychen? Lichen isn't terribly exciting, as a rule.

I quite liked the original Underworld, whatever that may have been called. Underworld: Leather Beckinsale or something.

And yes, lychee from lycheenthrope. Someone who turns into a spiky fruit whenever they see a dessert menu.

I thought that all of the Underworld films I've seen, maybe the first three, have been utter garbage. Plots that didn't really make sense, overblown nonsense dialogue, and rubbish overly cgi action sequences.

But I don't really think vampires and werewolves are sexy, apparently lots of people do.

I thought that bit didn't work so well, not so much his acting as the make up or whatever they did to try and make him look like Bruce Willis, it just looked a bit weird. I think because Bruce Willis was well known when he was not a lot older than he was meant to be in this. So we know what he looked like and it was fuck all like the guy playing him.

Apparently I'm going to watch a lot of Christmas films I've never seen. First up was national lampoon's Christmas vacation. I think I chuckled about four times, it was alright but I wouldn't watch it again.

Saw The Hobbit last night - in new-fangled 48fps 3D no less - accompanied by Lady Raiden.

I must say I rather liked it, though it's clear that they've really stretched it out to fit into three full-length features. Quite slow going at times, yet enjoyable, if you like this kind of thing. Which I do. :)

(Still, they'll be struggling for yet further material for the extended 4-hour BluRay editions... one of the lads in the office remarked that they'd likely be reduced to having to include really mundane stuff in the running order, such as Bilbo taking a shit whilst leafing through his Hobbiton News. :D )
