I was left both bored and upset by it. In retrospect a poor choice given the state of my brain recently.

Films wot I watched:

Split: M N Shallywallyman film's is actually a kinda cool character drama. There's some great performances here. The end is guff though.

Train to Busan: Souty Korean film about a zombie apocalypse. Starts off rather good like any good zombie film should but then tries a bit of comedy like lots of Korean films do. Still, well worth a look in if you're looking for something that's a bit ... wait for it ... brain dead. PAHAHAHAHA.

Brave: A Disney Pixar film I'd never seen. I was surprised how shit it was compared to their other movies. There was just something missing from it and something wrong with the art that wasn't particularly appealing.

The Expendables 3: Too much Stallone. It's shit an' all.

I watched La La Land last night with the missus. If it was just me, I would have turned it off after half an hour. Style over substance doesn't begin to cover it.

BUT!

I'm glad we didn't turn it off as everything after act 1* is really rather good. I went from being confused by the oscar nods to understanding why Emma Stone won. Don't get me wrong, it's pretty lightweight stuff, but I can understand why some people have gone mental for it. I might watch 'Whiplash' now. Same director, y'see.

* after they're 'together'

I watched that on Saturday, it's been on my list for ages, waiting for an evening when Lady T is out (she thinks these films are stupisd and she's probably right). It was pretty bad, although Ronda Rousey was a good addition (even if her armpits looked a bit... funny) and it was good to see Snipes back in an action movie.

I think the best expendables film was #2, it was silly knockabout fun and of course had Van Damme hamming it up as like a loon. #1 and #3 were a bit shit really.

The end, where they storm the complex or whatever, was quite good but the rest of it was so lame.

I'm pretty sure that loads of dubious compensation claimants have said exactly that about the medical condition anyway.

It's not even a medical condition because it cannot be objectively identified, so therefore it must be bullshit and must be eradicated. Y'know, just like an X-ray can't identify if you've got depression. Thankfully this Tory government and their insurance friends are on the case so by October 2018 we'll largely have rid of this made up scourge.

God this looks so good. After Lucy I'm hoping Besson is back on form.

Bloke looks disturbingly like Ian Beale at 0:43, and after the mess that was Cara Delevingne's acting in Suicide Squad I'm not sure she's really cut out for a lead role. Perhaps I'm being overly harsh though.

I think in fairness to her that was more to do with what she was given to work with.

Jem and I watched "Life" last night, featuring Deadpool, Donnie Darko and the secret agent woman from MI: Rogue Nation (or MI5, which fits equally well given she's British in it)

Actually pretty good, which surprised me. Heavily influenced by Alien, that much is obvious. Surprisingly brutal. My only complaints are that some of the setup is questionable, but nothing majorly wrong!

I quite fancied that from the trailer so will probably try to see it this weekend. Although I also want to see Free Fire and Ghost in the Shell so we'll see if I can cram them all in or not.

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
