Christ. The longer something is unspoilered the greater the chance that people, other than yourself, will see it. The post was in the late evening and not many folks were on. It's telling that people didn't start posting about it until this morning so it's doubtful that many people didn't see my original post with the spoiler warning. If it was left unspoilered for a longer period of time then it's more likely that I've just ruined a great film for people in your position but since I added a warning shortly after your moan it's less likely that anyone else was affected.

And I'm assuming that you might even want to watch Shutter Island and you're not just whinging on behalf of other people who may have seen an unspoilered post.

You're entirely missing the point. Anyway, let's just drop it. You seem to be getting more het up by the reaction to it than I was in the first place.

And it absolutely sounds like a film I'd enjoy - I didn't know much about it which is why I started to read your post... and then regretted it, obviously.

To those that say "just stop reading" it's not always that easy, your eyes often scan ahead and pick up stuff. I think it's just plain inconsiderate to not put spoilers in spoiler tags.

Although I managed to skip past it, I do agree. It takes seconds to put a spoiler tag on something.

Spoiler tags are actually mentioned in the rules.

Exactly. I avoid specific threads mentioning games, films, tv that I haven't seen yet. It's impossible with the generic media threads.

I firmly believe that for say something released in the last few months, if there's not a thread, you should start a thread. This thread should only be for mentions of older stuff where you don't really expect an in-depth discussion.

It's rude and inconsiderate* spoiling stuff that someone else hasn't seen when there's a simple facility there to protect the rest of us that haven't seen it.

Having said that my OCD means I even get annoyed when someone says "Look out for the twist" because then I am just looking out for that rather than just enjoying the film as the director / writer intended it. I avoid trailers these days because of the amount of plot shoveled into 30 seconds of supposed "tease".

I haven't seen Shutter Island but for what it's worth, I stopped reading when I got the hint that Sats post would contain a spoiler.

If I had bothered to turn my PC on today I'd have put a sodding spoiler on but its already been done. Last night I was on the phone so I didn't, OK. I said so up there. It's not like I haven't used the facility before.

I really enjoy this thread and everyone's different contributions. I don't always remember to say, but I find some great recommendations for movies here, and everyone brings something interesting to the table.

It looks alright... Just alright I reckon.

Well, I'm straight onto that hype train. Watched it 3 times in 10 minutes. Love the dystopian feel.

Rogue one trailer is great for three reasons

1) All the twats pissing and whining about it being female led and that the entire franchise has gone to the SJW dogs.

2) The interior of the Death Star is Canary Wharf underground station which is a totally legitimate representation

3) Promising the boy a new Star Wars video to watch made him get ready for bed in record time.

I concur with all of those, apart from I decided to wait to save the video for a time she's going a bit more feral.
