That's a great auto-correct, assuming that's what it is.

Probably not a word that's in most dictionaries by default..... :D

It was auto correct, sorry. :p

Skyfall sure doesn't live up to the hype - I found it pretty snooze-worthy. Casino Royale is a hell of a lot better (but let's not mention the awful Quantum of Solace - whoops, I just have).

I have been getting free movies in the hotel I use.

I watched
Cowboys V Aliens
Russel Crowes - Robin Hood.

Well I am glad I did not pay for them both 5/10

Pusher remake then.

Certainly loses a fair bit of the charm in translation, but at least Milo is still around. It doesn't hit the same highs and lows of utter biting desperation as the original, but the performances are basically solid. Dennis Pennis is good in it, even if he just turns up a couple of times to shout "fucking".

Dunno if they'll bother doing the other two films. They probably only did this remake because Drive was such a big hit, but they did a fairly decent job of it.

Robin Hood was utterly, utterly dire. Especially Crowe's baffling accent.

Cowboys vs Aliens was, however, every bit as awesome as the title suggested.

Last couple of films watched -

Urban Legends - Bloody Mary. Wasn't expecting much and didn't get much.
The Raid. Excellent stuff.

In-depth reviews as ever.

Watched Total Recall last night, the new one. It wasn't bad actually, overlong like all blockbusters these days, and the evil plan behind the plot didn't make any sense at all, but ignoring that it was pretty good. Good action, good effects, kept me entertained.

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
My main issues...
Two colonies left on opposite sides of the world, the plan was to send and army of 50000 through the fall to take out oz. 50k robots against probably 250 million people?
Plus only one fall? And it could only take 50k at a time? Hardly the enslaving force was it? How was that cost effective to ship people all the way through the world to work, and they would have to work next to the fall to get home again for the evening. What about the rest of the people and businesses that live 1000 miles away from the fall?
Why make robots that are basically no stronger than a man and can be beaten in a fist fight?
How could Cohagen fight the premier secret agent in the world and almost win?
The rest of the world had been abandoned, yet you were fine to walk around it in a facemask? Why abandon the whole world then, just seal the buildings and issue facemasks.

A lot. Some scenes were straight conversions, others were close but with a few minor or major changes, and for the rest it was full of homages and references to the original.

That was part of the issue, it was too close to the original, which is why the changed overarching plan stuck out like a sore thumb. The original was ludicrous but logically kinda hung together at least.

What? It was ace. It had monsters hiding and jumpy bits and stuff. Sagged a bit in the third quarter and had a good ending. First half was acebest.

Watched a couple of films today. The True Grit remake which was great and Crank, which wasn't. I can't compare True Grit to the original as I've not seen it (or any John Wayne films for that matter), but I enjoyed it. Might watch it with subtitles next time though as some of the dialogue is a little hard to pick up on.

Crank was pretty much 8) from start to finish.

I'm still not doing a good job of watching as many films as I buy though. As well as Crank, I picked up Demolition Man, Flatliners, Death Race (more Statham!) and Rocky Balboa... all classics I'm sure.

I can't say it looks amazing, and all the action stuff in the trailer appears to have come from the same three sequences.

Still, y'know, it might be alright.
