Hokay, I'm properly knackered cos I watched wrasslin' all night last night.

My thoughts:

Money In The Bank: Typical spotfest, good fun though. Man that Kofi Kingston can move.

Kid Rock comes out... I like Kid Rock, but is this really necessary? And what idiot books Kid Rock at a WWE show, without getting him to do 'American Badass'. It's not like its associated with one of your top guys or anything, WWE!

25 Diva battle royale: oh god, here we go again. It's not even over-the-top-rope. If you're going to book a women's match at the biggest PPV of the year, get some women who can wrestle in.

Jericho vs Rowdy Roddy Piper, Jimmy Snuka and Ricky Steamboat: Man Snuka looks old, wow Roddy still has his amazing repertoire of moves *yawns* Rowdy Roddy Piper's not at the Gates of Dawn tonight. Holy Shit! Steamboat! Those beautiful deep arm drags, chop off the top! Skins the cat! A lovely powerslam! Cross-body! Steamboat at 56 is better than half the WWE's roster! Its like being transported back 19 years! Shame it wasn't just Steamboat versus Jericho, to be honest.

JBL vs Rey-Rey. (IC title) Oh here we go, squash match. Oh stfu JBL. Wait a minute! Rey has come out dressed as The Joker from the Dark Knight! Awesome!
ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
Wow, first time I ever saw a squash match where the guy doing the squashing is half the size of the squashee. And JBL's quit! Best thing to ever happen at a WWE event!

Stone Cold driving around on a quad bike then drinking beer is more entertaining that a 25 diva battle royale. Who knew?

Matt Hardy (version 2.18) vs Jeff Hardy. Pleasantly surprised, expected a spotty match from the kings of spot-monkeying, but it hung together pretty well. Still some sick bumps.

HBK vs The Undertaker : 30 minutes of sheer epicness. everything, from the entrances right the way through the match done perfectly. This year's HBK-Flair.

Big Show vs Edge vs Cena Triple threat for the World Championship. Big Show is a lot better these days, he's carrying less weight, and he seems to be much happier now he isn't pushed as the monster heel all the time. Nice solid match.

Triple H vs Orton (WWE title): First thing, they really need to go back to the old belt, the jewel encrusted thing just doesn't work. It fitted Cena's gimmick, but if a belt makes the big gold WCW belt look tasteful, then its just too gaudy. A disappointing match. Didn't make enough use of the stipulations (title changes hands on a DQ or countout) I expected Orton to win the title on a faked up DQ, and Vince coming out to restart it. Nothing you can't see on Raw, and we're seriously supposed to believe this is a grudge match from five years ago... when these two have met countless times in the intervening period? Might have worked better with a Special Guest Referee, TBH.

Ah, so that's why he can't throw a decent punch! Spaniards are useless at that sort of thing.

It's also why he falls asleep mid-match at the afternoon house shows.

Is he a Wolverhampton Wanderers fan perchance? (there was a guy with what looked like a huge Wolves banner in the front few rows.)

Obviously his terribly burned face was actually sunburn, the result of training through his siesta. Thats why it cleared up so nicely.

I think I've been spoilt by watching TNA.. I know what you'll be thinking, but I much prefer TNA! Even daft gimmicks like Suicide are great in my eyes!

I know this isn't really relevant to the topic but I've been a WWF fan all my life up until about 2 years ago. I think it has become very stale with no real stars emerging past the obvious main eventers.

Also, Shawn Michaels vs The Undertaker? I remember this match from at least 1997!! 12 years ago!!

Okay, Money in the Bank just finished and that ending was terrible. Overall the match was quite spectacular fun.

That 25 Diva Battle Royale was a very poor comedy sketch. There looked like there might be some decent wrestling talent in there but they just refuse to use it properly.

Jericho vs the hall of famers - Steamboat looked the most capable hence doing most of the work. Still failed to set the world alight.

Hardy Boys - Boring. Mysterio V JBL - best thing I've ever seen Rey Mysterio do.

HBK V Undertaker - 10 minutes in and it's been going pretty well but as per usual with wrestling my attention has started to wander. It's fearsomely well presented though and you can really see the quality experience both these wrestlers have.

Some of the close ups of the Undertaker's entrance (ooer) made him look very clumsy and awkward.

And the final match is completely boring featuring wrestlers I don't like.

Watch the Undertaker and Money in the bank. That's all you need.

I've watched up to JBL vs Mysterio.
Fuck, the Hardy Boys took some fucking risks out there, as did the Money in the Bank crew.

Well, thats what they do.

Sometimes I long for the days when the DDT was a finisher and a piledriver put someone on the shelf for a couple of weeks. I mean yeah, wrestling is more spectacular now, but the wear and tear on the body of these guys is insane. Chris Benoit's brain was said to be like 'an eighty-year-old alzheimer sufferer's' from repeated, untreated concussions. No wonder the guy went freaking nuts.

I suppose a balance where rare matches are 'tear the house down, jumping off the balcony' type deals the rest are solid old school affairs would be best, but theres always a 'top the last match' mentality.

What better than last year's effort with the marching band?

Or 'Taker's proper entrance with the monks?

That would've been fun to see. Rather than answer questions from a talking wall, you could have the adventurer in a wrestling match.

"Clothesline! Duck.. oh, too late"
"He's got the chair! oh.. too late"
"Right...climb to the top rope. Quick! Now... flying elbow drop! No.. not there"
etc

Fuck me, the match may not have been that good, but the ending of the Triple-threat match was pretty fucking awesome.

I went to the wrestling with Bobby once.

Main Event was Stone Cold vs The Rock. After the match had finished they spent 45 minutes just mucking about in the ring, insulting each other and signing and stuff.

We also got Y2J vs Kurt Angle and Edge vs Christian in a steel cage match.

And some other things that I forget, other than William Regal being cool.

William Regal comes from Codsall. His real name is Darren Matthews. I used to work with his cousin.

My everlasting memory of him is when he debuted in the Wuff in 98 or so as "A real man's man", and came down to the ring calling someone a "big ponce"
