Oh jeez, she's here. You told me that Myp talks about me over dinner and I caused that argument between you because of my "big ginger brummie beard".

Can I come as well please? I am helpful in the kitchen and surprisingly house-trained.

You could actually tell me anything about what I said that night and I wouldn't know if you were telling the truth. Therefore I will believe I was nice as pie and definitely didn't call you cunts. :luv:

That was fun last night. My personal highlight was the Hardcore Free-For-All on Killhouse.

Average lifespan = ten seconds!

I now have this! I haven't ventured online yet, but I've completed the single player campaign and it really is truly spiffy.

Fear my level 4 noob tube and lack of Variety Map pack.

I went away, thought about what I had done and downloaded the map pack.

Far too many people put holes in Trousers for my liking.

Ange has had a bad day at work, so not sure if I'll be around tonight as I'll mainly be consoling her*.

Is "consoling" a euphamism for something? I have seen this word mentioned a few times but do not know what it means.

It means to do something else whilst thinking of your games console.

And it's euphemism. :droool:

I just won my first game on-line and got promoted as well. The living room is drowning in spunk right now.

Only another 45 levels to go.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks that.

Most clearly pointless and ineffective made up martial art EVAR. Y'know, somethign which can be evaded by stepping back a few paces and shooting them.

Also: That "most statistically likely distribution of enemies in a room" thing made me wish to commit a statistically likely beating upon the writers.

It's why Bobbyaro mostly just lurks, as he often ends up mostly by killing lots of enemies.

As opposed to Myoptika, who mostly kills his own team if we play Hardcore.

I've watched this man play Crazy Taxi; don't underestimate his haptic skills, Nooblar or not. I'm sure it won't be long before he's kicking ass and taking names and we have to evict him from Team BeeX for goodness overflow.

Imagine Bobby, Ramsea, Perkies are all on the other side from you, and Perkies' infuriating abilities have kicked in. On your team, you have Myoptika. Good luck.

As a special birthday present to myself I got to level 12 tonight.

Which means I can add the clan tag for here providing doing so doesn't sully the rest of you. So the question is what's the actual tag as I can't remember and the leaderboards don't show it. I think it's BEEX but confirmation would be nice please thank you ladies.

I played through a vast majority of the singleplayer today (from War Pig through to the middle of the final level) in one sitting - admittedly on 'normal' difficulty.

On the one hand, it's extremely forgettable generic contemporary FPS fluff, innit? Wow, shooting Arabs and Russians, AGAIN, is it? On another hand, it's very polished and well put together - at no point (note: hangover) did I ever really question what was happening* as not seeming 'right'. And...

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
...sweet fuck, but that 'final level' for Sgt Jackson, where you crawl out of the crashed helicopter, gasping for breath and undoubtedly breathing in tons of fallout in addition to the admittedly massive dose of radiation you've just had on top of the physical injuries and such you just sustained from looking, unprotected, at a nuclear blast... only to stagger hopelessly around the wreckage and bodies of your comrades, only to just collapse and die from your injuries. I'd hated the USMC characters (and still hate Griggs) and their ludicrous 'Oorah' mannerisms (which are even worse than you lot portrayed) but I can't help but feel utter pity for poor Jackson. He died alone and helpless and hopeless in a foreign land, only moments after taking a huge risk to rescue the pilot of a downed Cobra. That crewman on the Chinook got off lucky being kersplatted.

Likewise, the level where you are the gunner on an AC-130 Spectre (this isn't a spoiler, the achievements give it away quite happily) is disturbing in the combination of cold, clinical procedure and downright black humour at the deaths of dozens of men on the ground below as a 105mm shell lands in their midst and transmutes them directly from solid to vapour.

Yet to play it online again, mind.

*with the exception of that bit towards the end where I was killed about 50 times by an exploding barrel, and was greeted with a message very much like the 'you were killed by a grenade/exploding car' admonitions, but with a wholly suspension-of-disbelief-destroying 'you were killed by an exploding barrel - red ones explode when shot' nonsense explanation.

The mission with the Spectre really did send a chill up my spine. The way the voices chatter so coldly on the radio, the abstractness of the black and white letting you believe you are shooting *real* people; very well done, if not a little disturbing.
