A very shakey start and some hatefull yanks didn't stop the fun last night.

Been too long since I Bezzied it up.

It's time to make the necessary adjustments to my voice chat settings too.

Well, it's as bad as I remember it being. The lag seems to perpetually be on your opponent's side, the UAV/airstrike/helicopter thing ensures that the strong just stay strong, there's absolutely no attempt at matching player skills when it finds you a game, and half the time I swear I've been issued with fucking blanks as my bullets fail to kill my target.

Interestingly, afterwards I went and tried Frontlines' new 'Conquer' mode, which lets you take the control points in any order.

This means some annoying tactics (twats who race around in a jeep, neutralizing points and then buggering off before you arrive) but I noticed that the voice chat thing seems to have been changed... you might be able to chat to your entire team now, as I wasn't in a squad but could hear other players on my team. Would anyone care to test this theory with me?

I still prefer BF2. The game mechanics, even though they're both just multiplayer FPSs, are much better. The game balancing isn't such an issue, as you have much larger teams (up to 32 a side). The progression is a little tougher too, but even then the rewards for progression aren't so game breakingly OMFG I IZ NOW LEET, they were just a progression of different weapons that had upsides and downsides. Unlike the "perks" in COD4, which are a really crap idea if they aren't going to balance teams properly.

I wonder if people still play BF2 on the 360. It must be dirt cheap now.

I have it on PC, but if there's a Bezzies interest in it I'll be willing to pick up a cheap 360 copy.

I don't have a PC that would run it, or I'd pick it up for that (plus I've forgotten how to play with a keyboard and mouse).

It'll run on quite an old PC set up - I think it's on a 2.6 athlon whatsit at home, with a cheapy gfx card - possibly a 6200.

I have a Toshiba laptop with on-board gfx. I always use Postal 2 as my benchmark, as that runs with no problems.

Ah - maybe not then. Although having said that, Cras used to run it on the laptoip he passed on to me, which is not exactly a gaming rig, although you'd have to play at mimimum settings. Although having the draw distance on minimum is a bit of a shitter when you have so many snipings.

The 360 version is around for under a tenner so I may just pick that up - I can't really play on my PC at night anyway as it's upstairs.

If we get enough people interested I'll pick it up as well.

The thing I find is that I ALWAYS HAVE TOP FUN WHEN I PLAY WITH THE BEZZIES.

That's the main draw for me.

I wouldn't even own CoD4 if it wasn't for the Bezzies (oh, and Curiosity, of course).

What Zardoz said. I really don't notice what game I'm playing, really. Except when it's Frontlines and I can't get into the BezzSquad.

I bet you can't be Hide and Seek champions in BF:BC due to non-pronage.

I suspect the Morrisons deal last week will flush quite a few BF:BC, Soul Calibur 4s and Mercs 2 through the pre-owned section due to money making stuff and things.

Also, it appears that I have a very fast right trigger finger, to the extent that when I use the G3, people have been accusing me of having a modded controller.

I remembererd I had the G3 last night, and decided to try and get the 25 kills to get the red dot sight.

Jesus fuck it's a horrible gun with just the iron sight.

I've picked up a G3 with a red dot sight on it and it's ok. A sub-standard sniper rifle, really. If we're going german assault rifles I prefer the G36c thingy.

It's okay if all of the above are true:

a) You use the Red Dot Sight.

b) You have a fast trigger finger.

c) You play a sneaky game, hiding a lot and picking people off as they walk past.

The M16 is still the gun of choice, apart from close range where the MP5 or P90 are groovy.

Though I am doing a lot of sniping lately... I miss my Barrett!

I will happily play if you see my about, just lob me an invite. I am still at the missus' though so will have to talk very softly and have headphones for the volume which isn't ideal.
