Say if some filthy, greasy 13 year old had used a save hack to give himself maximum prestige and all the badges and gold weapons, what sort of comeback would he (not) expect to get from Actitwats?

From what i've seen of other people probably nothing from Activision.

As mentioned in the other thread Microsoft will kill his gamerscore / brand him a cheat / reset his avatar and gamerscore (just do a quick search on there for 'blue skin' to see people getting accounts reset just for that) - and may 'ban' him for a period of time

http://forums.xbox.com/33053334/ShowPost.aspx

This one has quite a good reply from one of the people on there :

Quote:
hello there,

One of the reasons you have been permanently banned is because

http://live.xbox.com/en-GB/profile/prof ... g=KI3R4N+x

You Avatar is blue. it is against the CoC to Mod and for you're avatar to have blue skin is a Mod.

You have also hacked you're gamer score
http://live.xbox.com/en-GB/profile/Achi ... o=KI3R4N+x

There is no time stamps on you're online achievements which prove you hacked you're games.

You have also done this on more than 1 game

MW2
L4D2
GoW2
BF1943

I suggest you don't post in the Suspension forum as they will go into more detail than i just did.

You are luckily not to get a console ban

That second video had me in stitches. He's trying to kill a guy using the rock glitch in Fuel, but he obviously isn't aware that it's actually a glitch.

Another month on for the leaderboard

Image

Bobby and Curio have put an extra *two* days into the game each (Curio just passing 10 days) but still no where near Nickachu who somehow managed to clock up an extra 2 hours :-)

I've put another days worth into it and just passed the 7 day mark and only about 12000 points behind SDG

Don't play it and have banned my son from playing due to his "tude" when playing, however I reckon he'd come top of that there screen shot. 18 hours a day is not unheard of recently. Kid needs to get stoned and get a bird!!!

Let's not discount me creeping in the bottom there with nearly four days of play now. I think I had about a day last month. I really should be fucking revising.

You should! You get new challenges for each weapon which stay with you forever after first prestige, which adds a bit of extra excitement. Are you trying to max everything or something?

In that top block you and I are the only ones who have not.

Yes i can get new challenges for it - but right now i'm going through every gun to max them out - i dont see why i should prestige and get back up to a high enough level to unlock them before that ?

I'm 4 FMJ kills off maxing the FAMAS then i think i have a few other AR's to do and i've hardly touched the light machine guns (i'm also about 30 kills of maxing the SPAS12 which is an amazing shotgun to use if you've got a bit of a laggy game - just a shot in the general direction kills if your close enough).

I now have the Mastery of all the guns, barring the last two sniper rifles, the last LMG and the AK-47. I think this Prestige around I will not go up another level until I've got the AK-47, to complete the set.

Due to playing Hardcore HQ a lot recently, I'm fast approaching maxing out my 'Danger Close' kills.

The AK47 is my least favourite weapon in the game so far - i have maxed it (it was the original reason for me to stick at 70) , however it took me ages and i started swapping out into other classes instead.

I need to check my perk maxing stuff - I think i maxed "Danger close" playing Domination as 'Lave'

Well that was annoying - obviously not a new 'trick' but the first time i came across it

Playing team deathmatch on Highrise - and the other team were just raining missiles in on us and there was only really one of them running around at the bottom - when i found out where they were it made sense :

So you can get on top of the great big enormous building , and that's where most of them were - using one man army to just keep raining explosives on us.

Very difficult to shoot (distance and without a sniper rifle single hit kill they just drop to the ground to get out of the way).

You know what, you play and play until you get stuck in a mindset that says 'You've already run 100 miles using lightfoot, you might as well finish that off or you'll have to do it again' and you think, right, I can't be arsed to do that again I might as well finish it off.

Then you do, but you realise that you've "accidentally" shot 250 claymores using sit rep, and you can't be arsed to do that again, so you continue on to do 750.

Then you do and realise you only need 12 more AC130's, 7 Chopper Gunners, and 2 Stealth Bombers to finish off the killstreaks so you continue on before you realise... etc etc etc.

It's true! And scary...

I've recently realised that I much prefer Halo 3's technical skill-based combat over MW2 which is pretty easy in comparison. And full of horrible exploiters and hacked lobbiess and cunts messaging me constantly with no update from Activision on the horizon. MEH.

Strange , last night was the first time i was getting 'join this hacked lobby' type messages in ages - i dont know if its partly to do with the fact that i've never prestieged so they think i'm not interested in hitting level 10 ?

Strange! I get them all of the time. When I started playing again about a month ago I was level 30-odd without any prestige, and I regularly got those messages no matter what playlist I was on. Maybe it's just luck of the draw. Either way, it's a total game-ruiner for me. Literally get four or five of them an hour. Combined with horrible campers, people hiding in rocks and team mates who play objective-based games like they're deathmatch just add to the hate. Why do they do that? WHY?

I play MW2 a fair bit, and have only ever received 2 messages from people about Prestige 10 lobbies.

Mind you, can randoms even send me messages now I have 'Friends Only' voice on?

Also, can someone remind me how I change that setting? I'm happy where it is, but my brother wants to set it up and I can't remember what I did to get it.

I've only ever had one of those messages, usually I just get called a cunt or a cheating cunt.

Maybe they're trying to say you've no mad skills & the only way you'll hit tenth prestige is by playing in a hacked lobby :P

@Curio, it's in "Profile" I think.

When the first batch of hacking started i used to get around 1 a night - i reported / blocked them and just kept on going - at some point in the past it started slowing down and i got less of them , until it switched and then instead of 10th level prestige its 'quick scoping' and they went back up for a while , then they started to tail off again and when i got that one last night it must be the first in around a month ?

Its probably random and i'll get dozens of them tonight to make up for it :-)

Urgh. I'd be cancelling my preorder if I didn't expect everyone I know to be playing it for the next year. :'(

Kinda sounds like you've already reached that conclusion.

There's still room in this world for COD and Halo though. Your avid gamers will probably pick up both anyway (lord knows, I will. And Kane & Lynch 2 unless its an unmitigated disaster like the first one).

I'll still be picking it up, got it on pre-order. I have to give it a chance. I like MW2 a lot, it's just the other people who ruin it - and that's because of bad decisions by the developers.

That might be more the way of the [gaming] world I'm afraid.

Still, only 5 miles to go and I've finally done the 'lightfoot' perk! Then it's just another 54 on Sitrep, finishing AC130's, EMP's and Nukes, and then maybe I can get on with the rest of my life.

Indeed. You too can get teamkilled by me twice in under three seconds!

Though the second one was harsh... it shouldn't have spawned him where my Javelin missile was landing...

Got to be the weirdest MW2 glitch ever

From Kotaku

http://kotaku.com/5609745/bizarre-moder ... games-free

Quote:
The Xbox 360 version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has had a curious side effect on a handful of Live Arcade games. Infinity Ward's modern military shooter is unlocking the full versions of five SNK games for free.

According to a report on Worthplaying, Modern Warfare 2—the full version of the game and its recently released downloadable demo—unlocked full, freely playable versions of Garou: Mark of the Wolves, The King of Fighters '98: Ultimate Match, Metal Slug 3, Metal Slug XX and Samurai Shodown II. Other SNK games (Fatal Fury Special, Neo Geo Battle Coliseum ) don't appear to be affected by the glitch.

All players need to do is access the demo versions of those SNK games from the guide button while playing Modern Warfare 2 and "quick launch" them.

Worthplaying explains further how the unusual unlock works, a bug we expect Microsoft, SNK and Activision might be scrambling to fix.

'Modern Warfare 2' (ALL) Bug Grants Free SNK Games [Worthplaying - thanks, Drtyfrnk!]

Note it doesnt actually unlock them forever , when you exit out the games are still "demo's" (or so the comments say i'm no where near my Xbox to try it)

Unfair. K&L is a solid 6/10, I reckon.

Anyone watch that Wikileaks video and (inappropriately) think that the next CoD/MW ought to have better greater dust effects for the chopper gunner/AC130 killstreak?

Player attempts to get to level 70 without a kill

http://uk.ps3.gamespy.com/playstation-3 ... 160p1.html

Quote:
In the gunning, stabbing, air-striking multiplayer mayhem of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, one man is trying to achieve a lofty goal through non-violent means. Gamer Glen McCracken is attempting to become the first Modern Warfare 2 player to achieve level 70 without a single kill.

Game Informer tracked down the PlayStation 3 gamer that plays under the fitting name of Mr_No_Kills and asked why he has endeavored to take on such a noble pursuit.

"I've already hit Prestige five times. I thought it would be something interesting to do," Glen told Game Informer. "It definitely gives you a different perspective on the game, and it's fun and challenging."

McCracken may not be taking a Gandhi-like stance against violence in videogames, but he is becoming a hit in Domination and Demolition modes where his singular goal is to earn experience points by securing flags and blowing up objectives.

Using a riot shield and the occasional, carefully thrown flash bang, Mr_No_Kills has already reached level 11 without a single kill. In that time, he's been killed a surprisingly low 272 times, a kill-to-death ratio that would make most Modern Warfare 2 addicts squirm.

McCracken estimates it will take him two months to reach level 70. Help him reach his goal by looking for Mr_No_Kills online and covering his ass while he secures objectives.

Hang on. How is anything divided by zero a "good" ratio?

Maybe that's why they squirm. Divide by zero errors.

:smug:

(they may be trying to say that getting killed that few times to get to level 11 is something good , but managed to Blem it up when they actually put the words together)
