They'll be rubbish! Probably semi low light instead of anything else, I'd guess. Cheap green LCD and a ropey camera with some simple image enhancements thrown on top. I suppose it's not as if they're going to be used in Afghanistan just someone's front room.

Although I would sort of want them to be amazing! Military grade goggles with infra-red too.

See, night-vision goggles would be cool. For five minutes. I'd have no practical application for them, though, and so splurging £120 is way beyond daft for me.

Sneaking in home to not wake the wife by sticking on the lights will be make a lot easier! :D

I've got a sneaking suspicion this game won't be very good.

Not sure why.

The trailers so far make it seem a little bit, erm, Michael Bay maybe.

I'm going to wait for reviews I think (and a decent price obviously). Which is interesting because it might be the first game which my GF buys out of frustration for me not buying it.

I'm expecting it to be rather ZOMG due to thoroughly enjoying CoD:MW.

I hope some of the multiplayer stuff is improved upon though.

I'll be waiting for the reviews first mind, don't think I've ever pre-ordered a game.

I think it will be a thoroughly enjoyable romp, just like the last one. Can't see it having much lasting appeal, not for me anyway.

I'm a bit fed up with the ultra-scripted CoD games. CoD2 was really, really good single player, CoD4 less so. I just can't see myself getting that excited about it this time around. The multiplayer for CoD4 was good, but I can't see this being a radical departure seeing as they've stumbled onto a formula of Halo-beating proportions.

CoD4 is the best single player FPS I have ever played.

I swear, they write shit like that just to see how many idiot 14 year olds they then hear on Live blabbering excitedly about how true it must be.

Apart from that being one of the crappiest photoshop jobs ever (the huge black borders around the buttons and the way the impression around the righthand stick just disappears), how the hell would you play with that? You might *just* reach the lefthand stick with your thumb while holding the rifle, but you'd never be able to manipulate the others effectively.

A Silent Scope controller would be cooler, but the big problem with gun games is, even with a little pistol, your arms get hella tired after a few minutes.

It would be funny if they had a 'win a chance to do Call of Duty: Modern Warfare FOR REAL!' contest... and everyone who entered and didn't read the fine print had in fact signed up for a three year hitch in the US Army with a guaranteed posting in Eye-rak.

Now, an economist type has been quoted on Eurogamer as saying it is indeed just Activision being greedy, as it's nothing to do with the weak pound so much as them wanting to see just how much idiots will pay for a 'hot' game.

Frankly, they can fuck off. It's also been pointed out that retailers like Argos and Amazon who are selling it cheap are taking the profit hit, not Activision.

Yeah, fuck 'em. I've had more fun out of BF1943 than I did with CoD4, anyway. Roll on Bad Company 2 and BF3.

"Frontlines 2" is "Homefront", set in an even more ludicrous future scenario in which North Korea has invaded the United States! In a Red Dawn scenario, you use even more improbably robo-weapons to try and liberate your homeland.

Sounds a bit pants, tbh.

Mate, that photoshop effort was clearly just a tongue in cheek effort to fill the image space, rather than putting a screenshot of MW2 in or something. DUH! :hat:

Oh my word.

Fun times.

Given that I've extracted about a billion pounds worth of enjoyment from CoD4, I don't mind giving them a massive wodge of cash for this one.

That said, obviously the cheaper the better.

:)

I paid £45 for CoD4 and I'll happily pay a tenner more for MW2. It's not THAT much more money for something Im bound to get as much enjoyment from playing with Bobby and Curiosity :D

The lead underpants are apparently to defend against the new kick-in-the-nuts melee attack, but are next to useless against the nuclear warhead martyrdom drops.
