Changed that for you, lazy.
If we get a massive influx of idiots from idiot websites it is officially your fault.

Do I get a million quid if we get lots of really cool posters posting really cool things?

We already have that, though. So you're effectively just saying "give me a million quid". Grim... must get fed up with people doing that. The curse of money, eh?

No-one would sign up to something they can't even see has any value.

Sounds oddly familiar.

Best way to do it as I see it is have a small section available for non members but keep most of it sign in to view..most forums I've ever used have it like this.

Yeah, but - why?

Really? The only other one I've ever known was WoB.

Yeah, most forums I've seen have a private section/s for the members..people who were not registered can't see everything, which I kinda like tbh.
Just something I am used to. Not having every tom, dick or harry reading everything there is without signing up.

Perhaps that's worthwhile - creating a 'members only' forum. Wherein bargains and other such paraphenalia could go methinks mayhap.

Just make it all sign-in only. It makes me feel safe. And then we know who's reading our forum.

Unless somebody manually vets each user registration (and each subsequent log-in, in fact), there's no way to tell who anyone is. That's self-exaplainatroroyr.

Has anyone still got the wheel from Monkey Island? I'd like to use that.

*EDIT*

In all seriousness, it's quite exclusive to make it sign-in only. We won't attract new members as there's no incentive to sign up when they don't know what goes on in the forum.

It might be different when we have the site up and running, but I say leave it as it is for now.
