So as not to clutter up the Rock Band thread, this.

Anyway.

Melvins covers, anyone?

Hooray! Also: eek! I really need to blow the dust of my guitar and remember which end to hold and stuff. I'm only half-joking.

First Melvins song to cover that springs to mind that probably isn't that difficult to play: 'Hooch' from Houdini, or perhaps 'Night Goat'. As I've said before, it's something of a dream of mine to cover 'Honey Bucket', but I suspect we might need to start slower. And by "we", I mean "me". :) :)

By the way - I'm probably better on the bass then the guitar, if that's any "use". And by that I don't just mean "less obviously crap on the bass due to less strings", like most seem to. Tch.

Well, I don't actually have a kit at the moment. Though, rehearsal spaces often do. I may wander over sometime.

Bah. It's things like this that make me sad that I'm as musical as a baboon in a tea-chest full of snooker balls being kicked down the stairs. I wanna be in a band and rock out! Maybe I can play the maracas like Bez.

I've had a FANTASTIC IDEA.

Once a week, we (somehow) pick a song, or pick someone to choose a song, or randomly do it. Then, interested parties have e.g. a week to cover that song. No more than a week or it doesn't count. They can cover it on whatever instruments etc. that they want.

e.g. Raining Blood. I would cover this by using my feet, the floor, my mouth, and some free music software. Possibly also a guitar.

Then when the dust has settled and everyone agrees that I'm best, we can start a band properly!

Excellent! Right... let's say then that YOUR COVERS OF RAINING BLOOD BY SLAYER need to be ready BEFORE 12AM (midnight) Thursday night / Friday morning. Where Friday is the last day of the working week, when cheery terrible metal covers would be a great thing to have new to listen to. See attachment.

Yeah, I was just saying "Go for it! You've got a week, do it however you like.", but it seemed a bit redundant and stuff.

But yeah, you definitely should. Even/especially if you don't actually know how to play keyboards. Do it! Do it!

That suits me, as I play guitar more than I play bass.

I keep meaning to dust off my guitars and start playing again. My niece puts me to shame, damn she's good.

i never understood people who get drunk before concerts. You're going to get amused anyway, so why not spare your liver for something else?

The same applies to this forum

Life in Britain is too hard. We need beer and a concert and a handjob, during, before we even crack a smile.
