Hang on, are we trying to summon him in some sort of black mass?

All this talk of sheep is pleasingly appropriate.

Also: brr, that picture reminds me of kissing an ex-girlfriend.

Yep. I have things going on that really necessitate cutting down on time spent blithering on forums, and I'm not sure if being excellent to people is a philosophy that fits me all that well to be honest. I can be cranky.

And CUS has been kind of weirding me out a little of late.

Anyways, I do intend to keep my forum-blithering reined in for the time being at least. The fact that WoS is now effectively dead is actually pretty good timing for me. So forgive me if I decline to partake in the exchanging of excellence for now. I have work to do.

Hey!

Ok dude, glad to know you're still around.

You may not be excellent to everyone all the time, but you are excellent to some, some of the time.

I have no idea what you're talking about, and that statement by itself can come to no good. Nice passive aggression there though - take note, students. Are you aware that you can simply Ignore me or whomever?

Most of the time you are excellent CUS.

Occasionally you do act like a right fucking tit though.

Myoptika: Not Dr. A probably.

Trousers: hey, if someone wants to ignore this place for six weeks, then turn up only to say "I'm not posting here, oh, and it's CUS' fault but I shan't say why.", then just as they have the means and right to do, as should I to say 'Er, what the fuck?'

Oh, I do. I mean, AF's hardly the first Bezzie Mate of Stu to turn up here to say 'I'm not here because of CUS' in a flouncy fashion, as if they're not just Some Guy on the internet. Just as I am too, natch. Except actually I'm secretly the most evil person ever, except not secretly.

I mean, it's not like I started a thread trying to attract one of the most popular forumites on WoS, if not to 'join' then to at least say much as he did above, but y'know, many weeks ago and without having to have a go at me in the process.

For example.

Don't rise to it. Like that thread on Stu you created it's just not worth it.

In our world of excellence just let it pass and take solace in your 98/2 excellence to titness ratio.

Edited for titness rather than shitness, the latter being unfair.

It would be "98:2" not "98/2", jesus, you are the worst poster on here, even worse than Anthony Flack.

And, *takes infinitely weary sigh* so on.

AND NOW, THE PUNCHLINE

Good thing I didn't mention the dirty piracy!

Aye, I let it go CUS, otherwise you just back up Flack's position.

I miss Flack and Dr A a lot but I totally understand their positions (I'll be posting less as my work load increases soon - thesis deadlines - eek!) - it's obvious that this forum is 'more effort' than WoS and that effort has to come from somewhere. And lots of people just don't have enough time to keep up. It's faster, busy and noiser here. Which isn't a bad thing. It's just means it works less for some people.

So if they post less or not at all lets leave them be. They are still most excellent after all.

I was close to just leaving full stop after WoS blew up because I spend too long on forums as it is, so I understand where they are coming from.

In a way WoS's forum would be perfect for me now, but burnt bridges and what not. So lets not burn any more.

What position? All he's done (effectively) is to turn up, call me a cunt, and fuck off again. Glad to see that he's so warmly wanted after, for such 'excellent' behaviour. Yes, I for one am glad that gentlemen like Mr. Flack are so fondly sought after, whereas selfish cretins like myself are disparaged and loathed.

You know what? You can all get to fucking fuck. You all think that I'm so terrible and your lives would be so much better? Fine. Mr. Flack? It's okay, you can come out now! Yes, the worst person on the internet has gone, you can all come and all get along just fine, just like you all were all the time, without me! Everything's going to be alllrrriiigghhht.

Why does it feel like stuff is on a hair-trigger a chunk of the time around here?

This is what he was talking about CUS. He didn't call you a cunt he said you acted a bit weird sometimes (as a joke). And now you are acting a bit weird.

You are not terrible, selfish, disparaged or loathed - what you are is the guy who saved the forum.

You're lovely. Genuinely. (Just a smidgen sensitive. Sometimes, but still lovely.)

UPDATE EDIT: What Craig said.

Blimey, did you really take "I'm not posting because CUS is a cunt" from AF's post, rather than "I'm not posting because I don't have the time"? Or is this a masterpiece of subtle jokery I'm not sufficiently in to get?

I read that initially as 'bill', as in a duck's bill, making me imagine AF as some kind of pecking duck figure. For that split-second misconception, it was amusing

In some (not-so) interesting Flack-related news, there's someone in my organisation called Anthony Flack and he's from New Zealand.

It's not the same one though, I asked.

You should get them both together, kill them and then chop up their bodies and fashion ammunition out of them.

Probably a bit too much effort what with the air fares and the knives and the chloroform but once you've done it you can carry a gun around saying "LOOK! It's a Flack Cannon. See?"

I think we need something to lighten the oppressive atmosphere around this thread, and also to remind us why we're here. To the youtube machine!

If I have taken Mr. Flack's post completely out of context and he is even now wondering why the hell his innocent post was so madly misconstrued, then he has my apologies; both for my vexation, and for my OTT reaction. That said, my previous ire and frustration is genuine, and I think I shall fuck off 'somewhat' (try and post less, basically), so as to cause less trouble and angst for the bewildered majority from whatever it is I am this week. This seems the best arrangement, to me. Also, it's all Myoptika's fault.

Please someone try and make a useable joke out of "Ben A.Flack".

edit: Matt, Demand that they Ban A. Flack. That'll do.

Well, I did give some indication of why I haven't been here. I'm trying to get less internet in my life at the moment, because I have a lot going on. I've been mostly listening to podcasts and radio and stuff instead, because I can actually do work at the same time if I do that. The change to a new forum seemed like a good time to try to modify my habits a little, so I decided to leave it be. And it's helped.

But I was just wondering this evening how everyone was getting on over here and I thought I'd have a look. And that I'd mention that it wasn't because I was snotty with everyone, or anything like that. I'm really not interested in the politics of this-forum-or-that-forum. And I'm not interested in being made into Benedict Arnold over it, either, if that has somehow happened to me in my absence.

But the reason that CUS has been weirding me out a little is that in the times I've heard from him, I've been picking up such a potent mixture of hostility, sarcasm and/or possibly regular joking around that I find it really difficult to work out which is which. I'm not kidding. I'm not sure how to respond. I didn't think there ought to be any reason for any bad feelings... but maybe there is. I don't know. It seems like anything I might say could be loaded with political significance which I don't understand, because I haven't been paying attention to any of this. It makes my head hurt.

From my perspective, life has just been carrying on, same as normal. I've been listening to the radio and trying to keep up with my sudden increase in work.

You're far from alone there, I think.

Good luck with everything - I hope the nipper is starting to treat you with the rispeck due to you in your lofty station as her pa and letting you, y'know, sleep.

I'd imagine Japanese radio is smaller, more efficient and utterly alien and terrifying.
