The circle has become complete. Whereas Stu would soon eject any dissenting voices from his forum, CUS isn't even letting them in in the first place.

I've decided to set up my own forum. I'm going to call it World of Joey.

Dull, tedious, over long, and loved by nerds? Surely that's Outpost Gallifrey? (I think he means Lord Of The Flies - Ed)

Full of people pretending to be midgets? Filmed largely in New Zealand? Twisted by racists into being a parable about the Aryan peoples fight against the inferior races?

Sooner or later we'll each and all have our own forums, talking to ourselves and there'll be no more arguing and no-one to disagree with anyone. But no friends and conversation either. It's a shame the people can't just get along or at least learn to accept differences without constantly needling at each others' sensitivities and weak spots, or saying abusive things.

I'm actually quite concerned that this will eventually happen. :(

He has some personal issues he needs to address. It's not really good form to discuss it on a public forum, sorry.

MOD HAT ON

Guys, we're receiving complaints that this thread is still ongoing from people who are bored of the forum drama. We think they have a point, and we don't think there's anything further to say on this matter. We're not going to lock this thread or anything heavy-handed like that, but instead we'll make a request: can we let this die now? Thanks.

No forum rules have been broken, so we have no real reason to lock the thread.

We're just asking nicely, ta.

Why shouldn't we be allowed to point and laugh when someone is being utterly childish and stupid?

Okay then - haha, you're bring utterly childish and stupid!

Edit: Yes, it was me that complained (possibly amongst others, I don't know), trying to express my displeasure about the continuance of the ugliness in an adult fashion. I didn't like it on WoS when Beex came about, and I don't like it now. It's not big and it's not clever.

Of course, presumably (I've never read the rules) I'm now breaking forum rules with a "personal insult" (sarcasm-laden as it may be) against another member rather than against (ex-)members on a different forum.

It's not childish at all John, and it's not 'someone' it's more than one person on there.

I'm on there, so that makes me childish aswell ('go figure!') I guess, but fuck it eh?

Technically it'd deny people having their say though love, so I doubt it will be done-regardless of why it was created in the first place, to make it feel like a leper colony I think ;) hehe. Hopefully it'll just be left now though, c'mon lets go sort that bloody quiz thing out! You left early and you were helping me >.<

To be fair, there is a bit of unfinished business here and trying to stop people talking about it probably won't help matters.

John's comments aside (which are to be firmly ignored) I don't really see what there is* to be a sore point for member's of CUS's forum anyway.

I do realise that that forum is secret and private, but this one isn't.

PS the Lord of the Flies thing was a joke.

I agree with keeping it open, by all means. The stupid comments that go with it though are just ridiculous. It becomes a sore point when people are 'taking the piss,' that is all. As a member of said forum I won't let it lie if people like John are saying stupid things like that, because they haven't the grace or the brains to understand the situation and come in half cocked and utter 'gay'

Haven't read LOTF but I got lent it the other day, so will start reading it

I think that snide comments like this are generally what Dr G and the crew were hoping to avoid by making this thread, Shin.

If it hadn't been made then there would be none though? I know I'm not the only one who feels this way.

Anyway, it doesn't matter because people do things for different reasons and we all think in varied ways. Thats it from me

Without condoning the unconstructive pisstaking, however, I can understand that the closed nature of STAG means a number of Beexers are frustrated and would rightly like to know what is being said about them over there. Despite vague claims of "server load issues", which make no sense to me, and several promises, the STAG forum remains opaque. You can surely see why people assume the worst?

I just think of it as PMs or MSN or whatever. As long as it's closed then to all intents and purposes that's exactly what it is. The fact that it is forum software running it means very little.

Well informed about what? Stop being cryptic?
No one is being talked about on STAG, as far as I am aware.

I agree that the inter-forum bickering between any of the forums is a bit sad, keep picking at scabs and it only makes it worse. Just wish people who start/change/stop visiting new forums fun times in those forums and get on with yourself. When this place started up, and every time there was a difference of opinion here, another forum would add to a long thread of 'ooh, look at them now, snark, snark' and it was one of the most childish and ugly bits of behaviour I have seen on forms, don't emulate that here. Hopefully that has died down there now, but if people want to do that elsewhere, let them, just rise above it though and get on with just posting wherever you enjoy it.

I don't know who contacted the mods regarding this, but I can't see what the mods can do about it. I don't think the mods hold much sway over what people want to talk about, and neither should they. Maybe best to appeal to people directly and say 'come on guys; let's just get on with enjoying the debate and discussion at our own forum and leave everyone to enjoy themselves likewise', because appealing to mods to do something leaves them little choice in what they can do (apart from locking the thread which would seem counter-productive as much of the time this would lead to a whole new crop of threads 'the moderators have taken it upon themselves to stop me from having my say about ________, so now I will make lots of noise'.

So, yes, I'd also like to see people move on from this (though I understand the irony of me now adding to this thread and bumping it up in an appeal to let it die down, so here's a picture of some ducklings to make up for that:

Well that's sort of it, but not exactly.
I can understand it's a private party, and some of the peeps I was taking to in this one have chosen to go somewhere else and have a better time, that's fine. I'm sure we can all live with that, and a jokey comment or two will surely be made.

But when people come back and imply that everyone here is a hateful shit and we should stop talking about them, and that's why they left in the first place, oh and you're not invited, that's where I feel a bit bemused. What have I done to deserve this?

Not so much "paranoid" as "well informed".

Well informed about what? Stop being cryptic?
No one is being talked about on STAG, as far as I am aware.

Are you on STAG?

Is the forum open to free registration now, then? I went to see if it was and I can only see a white empty page. :(

EDIT: never mind, found it - I had wrong url as forgot the /forum bit.

I can honestly say I haven't seen anyone from here being talked about on STAG, so it IS either paranoia on your part or shit-stirring on the part of another.

ACK! I was leaving the thread >.<

I can appreciate the fact that they'd like to see whats going on over there. I am in no way a spokeswoman for the forum, this is just my take on things and if anyone wants to yell at me and stuff they can send me a PM which I will happily reply to.

But staying quiet was what made me oppressed in the first place and I wont have others feeling the same way. I didn't want a thread like this at all which is why I only replied to friends who were asking 'where have you gone?' and I said 'here' I still would reply to PMs and stuff and pop the odd titter on here because there are some people I like here. I didn't want a mass split and this thread is kind of doing what I didn't want-but that can't be helped as people felt it to be the right decision.

The fact that some people have wanted to leave, and then to talk about why they are on the forum, and not on Beex, is something which some would find unacceptable.

Quote:
When Gmail started, it was an invite-only basis, whilst under construction.
Hotmail did not immediately begin a massive hate campaign against it. Nor did Yahoo! Mail.

The people who were already on Hotmail but without a Gmail invite, did not take this personally. It's just a matter of quietly and carefully watching how things grow; and because the existing service in some way was not fulfilling the requirements of its users, which is why anything new is made.

If people want to leave this amazing, awesome forum, it's their decision. If they want to talk about it with anyone else, it's their decision.
It is not the responsibility of STAG to provide details or quote posts, on the behest of other forums, who had previously forced out some of the STAG members, through maliciousness.

If people are thinking "are they talking about me?", I can only sadly suggest that either they are paranoid, are over-estimating their importance, or have something to hide.If anyone would like to be IP-banned, so that they cannot gaze at the forum and feel sad about it, I would be happy to extend the same courtesy which Beex is so happy to provide.

That really is it from me now as I don't want to be painted as a 'shit stirrer who won't leave it,' because I'm not-I just want to reply to whats been asked-any other questions can be put to CUS himself as I'm sure he will do a better job of answering it all than I ever could. Plus my fingers ache and searching for stray spelling mistakes is making my eyes go crossed >.<

Also haven't read any posts that have been done in the time it took my bloodied digits to type it out, so forgive me if I echo or turf things up a bit.
