What you've done there Duds, is forgot the cunningness of women. These women have been married a long time. The men could not give a shite about sex, that stopped long ago. The threat of not being able to sleep in your comfortable bed is a greater one. The women have mentioned sex to grab the headlines here. If they'd said the men have to sleep on the settee, people wouldn't have read it. |

T'would be amusing if a lot of these haughty women found themselves out on the street/dumped/cuckolded by their men who proceeded to hook up with women who weren't utter bitches and who knew that in a healthy relationship you never, EVER use sex as a weapon or bargaining tool in any sort of ultimatum. |

If the relationship is such that one partner could even be in a position to think of it (that they don't want it themselves) then it's already dead. If there are no strong reasons to stay together, like children to provide a stable home environment for, then give it up and seperate. A life of celibate misery and resentment is no good. |

Well, I mean if the only thing that's a problem is the bedroom, and you get on well, and still like each other, then it could be worth staying together for the sake of family. I know people who live like this. It's not the same as actually not being able to bear to be with someone and doing so "for the kids." But yeah, if you're not compatible in the sack to the point where one of you can even consider blackmailing through sex (or just as bad, feel obliged to do it without wanting to) then give it up already. |

I also agree with Ace. I've known people who have done both - couples who are no longer "in love" as such, but are sticking together for the kids and getting along almost as friends or flatmates, which seemed to work, and a couple who seemed to barely be able to talk to each other, but were still living together, which seemed to make all involved pretty miserable. |

That can work both ways Duds, depending on your partner/support network. I'd rather be unhappy on my own with the chance of finding someone than unhappy with someone I hated though. |
