My whole computer is now locking up for about 10 seconds at a time, then resuming working again. As in, the mouse pointer doesn't move and the keyboard is unresponsive. Then it is normal again for about a minute. What's happening?

Serious answer. If the pointer is locking up, it suggests it's not a software issue to me
