It's dumb because I'm quite sure I know the answer, but I've been looking at symbols for so long now they are becoming meaningless lines to me now.

Is;

< - less than and
> - greater than?

Thank you!!!

Yes. The small end of the bracket points to the smaller number.

3 < 55

12 > 2

are correct, 3 > 6 isn't.

Just remember that you can't directly compare numbers with a non-zero imaginary value in this way, and multiplying by a negative number reverse the flow!

Thanks squirt, it's because I'm rounding up numbers smaller than .0001 and my brain is starting to hurt as to which way around it is, scrolling up at the work I've already done doesn't help because I can't remember which way around the symbols are!

I think it's time for some lunch. This may have to include chocolate.

And there's '><', which means, 'does not equal'...

Is that Chloe in your avatar?

A >= B > C type arrangements are the ones I always find confusing.
Why not just write it out as discrete statements? Just people trying to be clever..

Ah yes, you're quite right. '><' is geek speak for 'X'.

Come to think of it, isn't '<>' the UFO in Space Invaders, as seen by ZX81 programmers?

Chloe Ryton? I thought it was Chloe Carter?

I'll have to find my cute baby photo of me in a high chair sitting next to my teddy bear...

'tis Carter, Ryton is where we were when the picture was taken, doing a fashion show for re-inactors (hence the file name in My Pictures). Chloes 1914 dress is authentic too.
