One of those people then, in a matter completely and utterly unrelated to any vote, but purely because someone once called him 'Gollum' decided to kill everyone in a suicide/murder.

It wasn't anything to do with a voting out, as despite the slight mockery, they weren't actually against Kevin Eldon at all. In the end they weren't even against the producer, they were just going to stop him from killing them all. Hell, his character even by the end became too ridiculous. Sure, he was pompous and thought they were all below him, but despite showing himself to be clearly intelligent, he decided to do something monumentally retarded. His character did not hold true. None of their characters did, really, apart from heroic love interest boy.

It was just lazy, IMO, and 'said' nothing at all.

They were going to break his legs deliverance style.

Zombie films always bring up interesting ideas but never run with them that well. The general public as zombies watching big brother wanting to devour and destroy the contestants. It's all basic stuff but it's interesting imagery.

Made me realise that a big budget, never ending, Zombie show from the USA would be awesome and would totally fit their run a show into the ground idea of tv making.

I was rater relieved that it wasn't constantly trying to say something. You said you were entertained by it and I think that was the aim, it was a zombie flick first and foremost with a few jibes at modern culture thrown in.

Yeah, I really enjoyed it. Unashamed schock but well-done.

I was maybe a little harsh on it last night, but at any point towards the end I could have turned it off and not really cared about it.

I was hoping for something a little more interesting than a regular zombie apocalypse story with massive holes in the plot. There was no attempt to do much with it, and nothing in it felt new or interesting.

I guess I was expecting more because it was writen by Charlie Brooker.

To me, you can't criticise Peter Kay's lazy X Factor parody without levelling the exact same accusations against this. Big Brother is already a parody of itself, and everyone knows this. In that way it failed miserably as satire, and was only a success in terms of random b-movie gore and some funny lines.

Yeah, it was decent, but it's not something I would even consider watching a second time. It was as near as dammit as much trash-pop TV as Big Brother itself.

I think the other message was people are less cuntish when they're cannibalistic monsters sicne there was barely a likeable character in the whole thing.

I liked Davina quite a bit in Street MATE days too. Went off her when she started getting chat shows and being part of Big Brother.

So the show then. First episode was terrible. The rest was very good. 2 hours very good 1 hour crap = 66%!

Davina Zombie was wonderful.

I liked her when she was the roving reporter on MTV's Most Wanted (starring Ray Cokes).

Yeah, brain stem. Like the pigeons a girl at university I knew experimented with. She'd remove their brains except the brain stem, and then they'd still sort of happily exist as pigeons, but on an even more basic level. So they'd eat if you fed them, and if you pushed them off a desk they'd flap til they landed on the floor, and then just stand there.

But the brain stem's at the back in the neck, isn't it?

I could jump out at people and go RAH! and everything. It'd be ace. I'd have difficulty in tearing live flesh off someone though, as the human inciroorisrs car really deal with that shit. Also actchuly getting to the mesentry would be difficult cos i've got no nails but it would be fun i can have the walk got n all.

It alternated between predictable and ridiculous totally our of character mood swings and nonsensical decisions made by characters... and that's before you mention the holes in the plot, such as two imbecilic cops surviving so long, yet no military presence? The BB House can defend against hundreds of zombies with one gun wielded by a spanner, yet the military have been overwhelmed? Said spanner can headshot every single zombie, even if running, at 500 yards, over the shoulder of a friend, yet cannot hit the one human at all despite numerous attempts?

It was good TV. I'm not saying it was terrible, but it was not as good as I had hoped.

I was hoping for something with originality, insight, difference, thought applied to the genre. There was none of it. Just a generic zombie flick with one tiny spin of being in the BB House. It was entertaining, but towards the end it was so obviously slouching to the ending. Not even the ridiculous characterisation faults at the end could make it unpredictable, and either way it's not a good place to come from.

As I said at the time. It was good popcorn TV.

Dudley said in another thread he was upset with Casino Royale as it was a good film but not a good Bond film. I was upset with Dead Set because it was good zombie fun, but it wasn't anything that I haven't seen before a thousand times.
