Defenders pretty good so far. Danny is a massive tool but it's good.

I have started watching 'THE CONFESSIONS TAPES' on Netflix.

It's a bit like Making A Murderer but focused specifically on dodgy confessions across many different cases.

All I can say is just hope that the police never decide you're guilty of something....

Just finished Big Little Lies.

"Subversive, darkly comedic drama Big Little Lies tells the tale of three mothers of first graders whose apparently perfect lives unravel to the point of murder"

My wife was recommended it and at first glance I wasn't keen.

Turned it was realty good and a little different, the first episode opens with a murder, but you don't find out who was killed and who did it until the last 5 minutes of the last episode.

Blood Drive is still amazing. Loved the Wile E Coyote bit, the grammar comment and the sexbot bits.

Yes. A tragedy.

Actually probably not. I think it did what it set out to do.

We watched the first two of those and I was left wondering much the same thing as after Making A Murderer. i.e. just how much of the story/evidence did the filmmakers leave out to fit the story they wanted to tell?

Anyone watched The Orville ?

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt5691552/

A Seth MacFarlane "Star Trek" show, its very well done visually, although I suppose most things can be made to look good these days with technology.

Watched the first episode last night at 9pm with my 5 month old son (who has the sleeping pattern of an adult) so probably didn't have 100% focus as he was wriggling all the time

Found myself enjoying what at times is a welcome Star Trek clone show that at some points follows a sort of serious sci-fi show plot, but has comedy in it, jokes are not as outrageous as American Dad and Family Guy. So I struggled with it a bit.

Read some reviews and people say its gets a bit better after Ep03

Worth watching though and I'll keeping viewing for a few more episodes yet

As our baby was still up and being a handful my wife was not too bothered about what was on TV. She normally hates sci-fi, but she did laugh a few times at the comedy

So maybe this can be a gateway show for educating her on the joys of sci-fi :)

I finished Preacher season 2 over the weekend and it has been absolutely brilliant. It was left on a proper cliff hanger so I really hope that it's renewed for a third season.

It's quickly become my favourite thing on TV.

it's getting soops formulaic, sort of glad it's done in another episode.

So is The Mist any good?

Also - looking forward to the new star trek series. First Born should enjoy that too.

I was worried how this one was going to go, given it had a lot to live up to, ,but I really needn't have been. I'm three episodes in and I'm worried it'll end too soon :)

BBC4 have picked up Ken Burns' Vietnam, starting Monday at 21:00. Other than his famous Civil War doc (that I find hasn't aged well), I really enjoyed his one on prohibition and probably ought to get round to seeing his one on the West.

I'm making slow progress with THE CONFESSION TAPES because new PC and whatnot, but Episode 4 is pretty damn chilling.

By the end of it I was like, 'Holy shit, a woman went to prison for the rest of her life, based on that?'

If you have Netflix I'd really recommend giving this series a try.

Just watched the first two episodes of the new Trek on Netflix. I would recommend (this is from someone who has enjoyed the movies on the whole and finds the TV series wildly variable), it looks fantastic, sharing a visual style more in keeping with the Abraham's Trek even though it's supposed to be in the original timeline. The first two episodes rollick along ending on a bit of a cliffhanger. There are a couple of gripes however, firstly not sure I like the Klingons new look, they remind me of a cross between the Vogons from the original HGTTG and the Sontarons. Secondly, they really need a couple of script doctors on the team because some of the dialogue is really clunky especially in all the setup stuff in the first episode.

Many bananas out of five.

Ah good stuff. Everyone needs some VM Varga in their life.

Not the same kind of thing at all, but I discovered this morning that the Mr Bean TV series has been added to Amazon Prime, which means a few hours of excellent TV time with mini-Fop awaits.

Watched the first two episodes this evening. It's very well done and I've learnt loads about the conflict already. It's also very uncompromising in its use of footage and photographs. Highly recommended.

PSA: The Good Place and Brooklyn 99 have started again.

Also, if you like fun and / or annoying Gaywood: Scorpion started its forth season earlier in the week.

I'll be honest, I couldn't remember what happened at the end of Unexploded Politician, so I had a quick look online. Yep, I think i was happy for it to finish there.

I will no doubt slurp up this new series with emptily greedy gusto, nonetheless.

The new season of Episodes started a few weeks back and I rattled a few episodes in a row after remembering just how fucking hilarious it is. I don't think it's particularly well known but even the characters that appear briefly are brilliant and I'd highly recommend it if you're looking for something pretty fucked up to laugh at. Sample plot-line: Matt LeBlanc gets fired from his presenter job on a ridiculous Big Brother-esque gameshow after forgetting there's a 24 hour feed that transmits to the entire world his wanking for one of the female contestants.

I enjoyed the show, but I really massively hated the last episode of the first series, so I might not watch the second series as I have so many other things on my list.

Also, I watched that Big Bang Theory spin-off “Young Sheldon”.

It’s a strange beast: no studio audience, no laughter track, a muted performance from the actors, a very good performance by the mother, it’s not even a straight comedy and it already has some underlying tensions bubbling away even if you know just a brief backstory of the character.

I’m strangely drawn to it but it’s only episode 1 so it might get shitter. Here’s hoping it plays it straight throughout however manny episodes they’re doing (I can’t imagine many) and avoids the laughs because I think that’d be rather interesting.

Unfortunately I have a very limited supply of half-decent stuff that my wife's not interested in watching, which is suitable commuter fodder. Anything she wants to watch, we have to watch at home. Unexploded Politician is one such program.

Fortunately for me, two others are Orphan Black* and the Expanse. So i'm currently on the final series of the former and looking forward to the second series of the latter.

*Speaking of which, the first couple of episodes of series 5 are a fucking mess.

Ooh excellent I didn't realise it was back on. Cheers.

I absolutely love it - the fight scene in season 1 made me cry with laughter so hard I couldn't breathe.

For anyone who find themselves regularly not knowing when new seasons start I can highly recommend Episode Calendar. Tell it what shows you're interested in and it'll create a personal calendar for you showing whenever something you like airs. For US stuff it's the US air dates it gives mind so if it's not simulcast or you're not pirating your TV it might not work so well admittedly but for me it's excellent and means I don't miss anything I'm into. I've attached a screenshot of my current calendar view just as an example of what you see.
