I watched the first episode of Boba Fett. BOR-ING.

And the fight scenes were terrible.

And Boba gets surrounded by shield guys and doesn’t just fly away? Fuck was that about.

Nicole Richie on Great News (Netflix) is superbly funny. As is the rest of the cast in the episodes I have seen so far. Tina Fey exec produces it, if you don't trust my judgement and need a nudge.

Does it matter if one never bothered watching the final season of Dexter?

It does not. I did watch the final season but don’t remember any of the seasons of Dexter AT ALL, but am still enjoying the new stuff. There’s enough explanation of his past that you can watch it if you’ve not seen any of his previous ‘work’.

smashing, thank you. I did enjoy the show when it was good. Will be a good alternative to the Stay Close nonsense we're currently sitting through on Netflix (which is not to say it's unenjoyable, but it is very much nonsense).

The Book Of Boba Fett is good, but they’ve clearly cut corners in places.

I tried Parks and Recreation but it really didn't grab me at all. After a few episodes we gave up on it.

The Good Place (which we have only just started) is more entertaining.

That last season was SO SHIT though, it felt like it tarnished a lot of what came before (and frankly it had been on a bit of a decline for some time). Lady T suggested watching all of the Dexter series again before we do the new one, the response was a simple 'nope'

KovacsC wrote:
Supernatural seasons 1-15 are now included with Prime... which is good.

Lady T has also suggested rewatching this, I don't have the energy for it.

Parks & Rec is one of those shows that benefits from the first season being skipped entirely. 2-4 are solid gold. 5 is still good, but beginning to wane in my opinion.

I’ve not watched it for the same reason, but have heard from so many people that it’s best to skip the first series entirely?

We watched the first episode last night and switched off halfway through. Definitely didn't give it a fair crack of the whip, but I felt like I was watching a 21st century version of Shoot Me with Brooke Shields and David Spade, which was shit. May try again, as definitely unfair to damn a show by its pilot.

8 series of Castle:

Police procedural with an author "helping". Inoffensive, sometimes charming, sometimes funny. Well produced and competently acted. Good to see people from Firefly turning up in it. The daughter can be annoying.

I think I'm kind of encouraged by that. I stopped, for no reason other than that there's so much of it, in series 3, but I'll start picking off some episodes again. It's such a good love story, at least for the first few series (I accidentally started with the first two episodes of the last one, which was confusing, and spoilery).

When we watched it, we were always guessing who the murderer was as soon as they appeared, as they were the guest actor you recognised.

I failed to recognise Summer Glau as she didn't fall naked from a packing crate.

Still warm and lovely. The laughs have got bigger, I think.

We downloaded the Apple TV app and it wanted to give us a free episode before (presumably) getting us to subscribe.

I take it Ted Lasso is only available through nefarious means currently?

I'd say it's money well spent to subscribe to Apple TV for a month or two and rinse all their content before cancelling.

Ted Lasso is the best feel-good TV ever.
For All Mankind is a great alternate history version of the Space Race and there's a good selection of other stuff to try.
We're doing Schmigadoon (Weird musical) and Physical (80s aerobics drama) at the moment.

We have a five month trial of Apple TV (yay!) and are watching Ted Lasso. It’s great. The dip down in tone at the end of each episode ending on that poignant note hits just right. I can’t stand some of the characters, but that’s why they’re there.

Also watching all of Fraggle Rock, including the best episode (19). They really DON’T make kids TV like that. They deal with some BIG subjects. It’s sincerely beautiful.

The new episodes are released in a few days. I have no idea if they could match the original episodes for poignancy, but I hope it’s still good. Will check out the alternative space race program also.

Have you seen Space Force (Netflix)? Everyone should watch that. We’ve watched it twice. Love it, love it, love it.

True Story: superb thriller with Kevin Hart and Wesley Snipes. Really enjoyed every episode of this.

Ozark: it's back! Great start to the fourth series, will probably do an episode a night. I have missed this!

Just finished Season of the Expanse. Still one of my fav sci-fi shows. The finally seemed to wrap up a bit neatly, and quickly.

I thought that was supposed to be the final season, but they left FiLIP floating around in space, and the pet cemetery kid on that planet that Marcos was asking for help are the two that spring to mind

Yeah, I just had a look at the reddit threads, and there are essentially three books after the serieses. Speculation that that's it, that maybe they'll do a Firefly-style film or two, but really you probably have to head for books 7-9 at this point.

The filming is excellent, but I find the powerlessness of most of the main characters pretty hard to take. Anything that gives me a sense of relief at the end ( :hat: ) would be welcome.

Yes I agree. I think a 6 parter was a bit short as a season
