Interesting analysis of the rigidity of the classical music canon, and how it arose:

Using teen movies to explain the current state of rugby in the USA. MaliA did not write this (I checked).

Shawn Woods' Mousetrap Mondays aren't everyone's cup of tea, but his recent video testing out a plastic owl with flashing eyes is sheer comedy gold (and no animals are harmed):

A newish channel that covers (will cover) the entire history of the earth from formation onwards, there are about 10 videos at the moment and I think they are very good quality, a nice soothing voiceover and very interesting.

Is the first one in the series.

The low budget video reminded me of Entombed's Wreckage video, which is basically just a trip to Blackpool Pleasure Beach.

Ah that entire era of Entombed was gold. Their Night of the Vampie vidya was the same.

Enjoyable and well-argued trilogy trying to identify the Disney film with the biggest bodycount:

Part the First
Second episode
Third part

I've only recently discovered The Film Theorists, and it's the exactly the kind of probing the innards of popular culture I like.

Mark Thomas has been very busy doing things for Go Faster Stripe's club recently (fiver a month if you want to join, and it's great). Tonight's live thing was an hour show, 'Ouch', all about his meaning of Christmas. It's a corker of his usual, at his best, laugh and cry story style.

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
I'm not sure if it is entirely public, or not, but there's a link under the video to donate to charity if you like it.

They aren't exactly new, but they are new to me - I've found this mini series by the Duran Duran bass player John Taylor to be really interesting viewing. It's great to watch someone that's knowledgable, enthusiastic, and really good at something just doing their thing.

What does one need to do? Lash it in the bottom?

I was impressed by him lifting that up there, but immediately distressed by the sound of it scraping along the table top.

I didn’t make it to the end. What should we use instead of dishwasher tablets? (on the outside chance I ever own a dishwasher).

Ah yes - the TLDR.

If your dishwasher has two cycles, it doesn't use the main detergent tray till the main wash. The pre wash would be greatly helped by having some detergent, and dishwasher tablets etc. mitigate against it.

So: if you have a prewash compartment, or dint on top of the detergent door (struggling for a better term - washing cupboard?), squirt a bit of detergent in there. Or break a bit of tablet off, if you have a crumbly tablet, I suppose.

Edit: So you can stick with tablets and do that, but the whole thing is made easier with a bottle of detergent to squirt into your different compartments.

Ah, which is similar to (but also opposite to) the problem with prewash cycles in washing machines if using pods/dosing balls. As you drop the detergent into the drum, it’s all used up in the prewash, so you have no detergent in the main wash.
