James Cameron once helped out his showbiz chum Bill Paxton by directing a music video. The results were... stunning.

The Youtube page has a larger version, and some handy info to help you spot the many celebrity cameos (highlights: Judge Motherfucking Reinhold & Mrs James Cameron AKA shecksy director Kathryn Bigelow).

The headlines cut in are from the League Of Gentleman, who used quotes from this documentary as headlines during their first series.

As Dave walks into a building, a pulsating wave of oddly blueish force emanates from him, instantly solving every Rubik's Cube in the place.

He's been banned from Toys 'R' Us because of the potential of singularities spontaneously forming.

I still remember when we went to Myp's house, and Mr Dave picked up a Rubik's Cube and solved it without even really looking at it. Then there were some frantic clicking noises, and he put it back all muddled up, telling us that it was now "as far away from winning as it was possible to be".
Then Dimrill came in and changed the channel to some old woman taking phone calls or something, and we all got distracted.

Another one I just dug up on Youtube.

Here's Michael Malric-Smith from Interceptor landing a helicopter* into a circle of balloons. Nothing special there except he's cut the engine at 3000 feet and is basically doing an emergency landing which you'd usually be doing into an area about half the size of a football pitch. Remember, the second he cuts the engine the helicopter is dropping like a stone as he has no lift. There's no gliding like in a plane. He has to use the fact the helecopter is dropping to generate enough rotation in the rotors to let him steer and keep some kind of control. As you can see its not a smooth landing and he comes in at speed!

* The comms helicopter from Treasure Hunt if you are interested.

I have never seen tilt-shift video before, I don't know what it means.

After seeing to my mind the most magical video that I've seen on the internet this year, I don't think I want to know. Utterly beautiful, genuinely touched me. Lovely music too.

Can 'Sim City 5' look like this, please?

That was beautiful, and the music is absolutely lovely. Everything about it elicits a smile.

It wasn't with a tilt-shift lens, though. He says in the interview he initially tried to use one, but the results were less than spectacular for video, so he mimicked the effect in post.

Not enough of Paul Daniels on TV? Worry no longer! Now you get to see Paul Daniels clearing his garden shed.

Yes we've finally got to the stage where people who can't get on TV any more finally decide to make their own programmes.
