Hah, no wonder I didn't recognise it - along with the HRT they're the least shown car during the race.

Aren't the McLarens, Williams and Red Bulls designed in Oxfordshire as well? They're all in that general area, in any case.

Fairly close, Silverstone is a half hour drive away, but Virgin's car was designed behind the new Lidl, so about a ten minute walk from me.

In real life I'm pretty sure I'm correct in saying that his car was so crap he didn't finish any race. In fact I think that was the year they had pre-qualifying and the car was so rubbish it only got past that stage a couple of times.

Andrea moda were extraordinarily poor. And didn't like him for monetary reasons, so did things like send him qualifying with full wet tyres on a bone dry track. F1rejects. Com has all the amusingly tragic story

Mcclaren is in Woking, as you fly out of heathrow heading west it's the first recognisable thing that isn't an airport.

More stupid penalties. Di Resta tries to overtake and damages his own car. Gets penalty.
Incident is repeated with Hamilton and Massa, but no damage aside from Massas contact with Webber.

Oh, and daft finger waving pillock gets a quite unearned victory again.

I thought those penalties were deserved, they did cause accidents. Hamilton was driving like a thug.

Button was robbed by a poor strategy decision at the wrong time, and awful restart rules.
Congratulations to Kobayashi though :)

Really silly to allow them to change tyres for the restart. That saddened me, as it was shaping up to be interesting.

Frankly, if stewards give penalties for causing those 'accidents', I'm just about done with the sport.

But Di Resta and Hamilton basically just drove into the cars in front of them.

And penalties shouoldn't really be given for standard racing incidents.

Neither Massa nor Alguersuari suffered any significant damage from touching the car behind.

Theories abound that Webber's tyres were put on Vettel's car and vice versa, hence the problems in the pits. Official word is a sticking heat blanket, but looking back at the footage it was no such thing, the front right wheel dude was signalling back to the pits that something wasn't right with the wheel he was holding, he seemed to then get a signal to say he should carry on, and he whipped off the cover no problem and stuck the wheel on.

Be interesting if this gets followed up and what this means, as that is a complete no no...

This was mentioned as a possible during the race, and Brundles response regarding the heat blanket ("It's only a bit of velcro") seemed at the time to suggest something.

If they were Webbers tyres, and Red Bull has covered anything up, it's the end of Vettels season.

What was shaping up to be an interesting finale was ruined by tyre changes at the end. Pirelli have said they want that rule changing since. Also the supersoft tyres needed to be softer.

Vettel got lucky twice in the race and once in qualifying - didn't really deserve that win.

While I didn't want Vettel to win, I applaud his team's strategy. Run those tyres into the ground, because if you pit, you'll lose it. Like Button did. That the red flag sequence occurred was good luck for them, but imagine how irked they'd have been if they'd just gone in to change tyres, and dropped to third? It was a brave move that ultimately won them the race.

Yes, but it was a strategy that was likely doomed to failure - his tyres were about 2-3 laps from going off the cliff, at which point he'd have had both Alonso and Button finding him easy pickings. It was only the red flag and subsequent allowance to change tyres which won him the race.

Too true. But most other teams would have thought 'shit, these go off the cliff after 45 laps! Bring him in!' They elected to stick it out til the bitter end.

He who dares wins, Rodders!

I liked that race. They got the DRS zone pretty much right, there was exciting dramah and it would have been, as others said, quite the finish if it weren't for the race being stopped. I'm not sure the rules need changing, though - Red Bull (tyre-swapping antics aside) had some serious balls on them to go for a sixty-lap run on soft tyres.
Hamilton needs to go to some kind of "spacial awareness" school, though.

Hamilton is apparently going to "walk away from F1" if he can't "race the way he wants".

I suspect, however, that he won't.

I really like his obvious passion for racing and his honesty - in a sport that has been dominated by bland drivers who trot out the same old facile comments, it's refreshing to see.

I don't think he'll walk away from it either. He himself will know deep down that Monaco is not a racer's track, and he was obviously frustrated with how qualifying turned out (I think had Perez not crashed, he and Alonso would have been the front row). He tried to make up for it with some questionable manoeuvres, but I'd rather him say things like that and show some passion any day. I just think his heart would not be in it if it turned into a procession again.

Just you wait, Button will probably be given a penalty for causing an avoidable incident, because that's how they like it this year.

"Idiot child"? 8)

It was an awesome finish, but I missed most of it when it switched to Bbc2 (i paused it while it was red flagged to easy my dinner) - I came back again with six laps to go :(

DRS was properly broken in that race.

Still, whoo!

Vettels glum face after the race was a joy to see. I hope to see it again soon.

Amazing drive by Button. Well worth the long wait.

No.

People saying this are basing it on Webber blasting past Schumacher. If that was the case, then a) how come Schumacher could not get back past Webber on the next lap and b) how come everyone is ignoring Button closing on Vettel at 1.5+ secs a lap without the aid of DRS.
