SWB that, the extra bit on a LWB is between the back of the sliding door and the back wheel.

Ah right. What’s the plan with it, Mali? Keeping as is or kitting out as a dedicated camper?

Post subject:  Re: Gas Guzzling Money Pits

It's a SWB. Keep as is for the time being and see how it goes, then consider options later

And then a new intercooler for apparently another few.

Factor in a new clutch and flywheel too if adding more horses. Slippery slope!

You'll need the extra BHP to win more races though, which should net you more money to spend.

Van news! we're now used to backing it on to the drive. It does 40mpg fact fans, if you bang the cruise control on at 65mph. Also, found unexpected underseat storage! All in all, I am very pleased, and it is being loaded up with everything in the world for camping at Green Man this week.

Nope, this was Birmingham to Stratford Upon Avon. It’s great fun being in a group that large and watching the reactions from bystanders.

No, it’s not too bad when you’ve done a few. There’s a lot to keep an eye out for, as you’ve got no idea how safe and sensible a rider everyone around you is, but going through the city it’s 30 and 40 mph limits which helps. There’s also people stopping unexpectedly on the vintage scooters as they stall, overheat or break down.

Once you get to open roads people space out more and there’s more time to relax.

I don’t know if anyone did a proper count but I’d estimate 250ish people there.

I drove past an entrance to a car park three times before plucking the courage to go under the barrier which was at six and a half feet high.

It did 35mpg with all camping kit in it through the Welsh hills so that is acceptable.

Yeah, I can't get under many. Pop top roof, big tyres and fairly high suspension.

Had an electric car (VW ID3) as a courtesy car yesterday. It was amazing: quiet and quick. Adaptive cruise.control and lane detection is wizardry. Took me ages to find how to turn Aircon off though, and no CD player.

Not going over too many hills, and doing 60mph on the motorway, it did 39mpg with camping kit in it, so happy with that.

I don't think I have had a CD player in my last 3 cars.

I think he's going to make it.

Anyway, sold my M135i to a dealer this morning. They originally offered me £11,000 based on my photos and description for it but upon inspection knocked their valuation down to £9,750 -- I got them to agree to £10K.

Seemed fair, given the number of things that the inspection highlighted (that they ran through with me in detail):

- Chunk missing out of the front bumper (this was on my description, but I described it as a 'chip' as I didn't really know how else to describe it)
- Rear bumper had had a smack that had pushed it all in and cracked the plastic and the paint, and unseated the glue from the diffuser bit that attaches to it. Think someone must have reversed into me in a car park at some point and not left a note, the pricks.
- 3 of the 4 wheels noticeably buckled (that'll be the fucking potholes around here)
- Diff making a weird whining noise in reverse
- Roof rails rusting and bubbling
- Side skirts need repainting, one of them was blue underneath so must have been added by a previous owner at some point and painted white
- Centre caps on all wheels need to be replaced
- Wheels were all scuffed from kerbing

No way I'd have been able to sell that privately without listing the faults now that I knew them, too honest for my own good.
