If you look on at the steering wheel, there is an extra stalk for the adaptive cruise, else the normal cruise on the indicator. In the the 30 odd cars I have looked at or phoned, only 3 had this feature. |

The difference there I guess is that Hyundai didn't list TPMS for the Fastback i30n, but explicitly listed it for the Hatchback i30n, and categorically told me the Fastback didn't have it when I asked them about it. My postman looks like JBR, so I call him JBR. He used to power walk his route, but now he has a lil’ van. He does t leave it idling, though. He parks it up, delivers along that street, comes back for it, drives it to the next street. He power walks between parking. Our other postie looks like Dog (The Bounty Hunter). Doing local deliveries they probably wouldn't even all need charging every night. |

Letters, small parcels and big parcels, between 11:45 and 1:15. He does park his van right outside my window (in the van birthing area) so he is close by, but we don’t get a separate big parcel delivery. Dog (The Bounty Hunter) who predated JBR as Mimi’s main postie used to see me walking with Darwin around town and would just pull up wherever (and he definitely didn’t leave it idling, I realised when I thought about it), rifle through his van and give me my parcels so that I didn’t miss them at home, or to save me going to the sorting office if he’d already visited my house. That’s when good Posties be-come gooooood.... friieennndddssssss. |

They're fine to a point, but obviously there's a limit as to what they can do a temporary repair on. I guess it depends how far away from home you're ever likely to be, and how much you value being able to get back on the road in the event of a tyre getting properly fucked without assistance. I've always been happy with the gunk as my car never goes off the IOM (worse case scenario if I get stranded is ring a friend, catch a bus, or get a taxi), but if I were doing long distances in the UK I'd value a proper spare more. As it happens the i30N came with a space saver spare anyway, but I actually keep a can of gunk in the car anyway as it's great for small temporary repairs that don't require the spare. |

Get a spare, if there's space under the boot, floor or a proper housing for it. Otherwise, I find having a spare take up a lot of the 'proper' boot space can be pretty annoying. |

I have to say I am really impressed with the Skoda, I have had 4 Golfs (2 x Mk6 and 2 x MK7), but wanted a change. First impressions, the car interior is a little bit more plasticy than the VWs, but I think that is reflected in the price. The boot space is massive so won't be an issue with all my tri stuff. The car itself seems a lot more nimble than my golf, same engine. Not sure if it is because it is an automatic, but pop it in sport mode and it lifts quickly. It is averaging 54mpg on my commute. A big thumbs up |
