I fitted a hydraulic handbrake once, on the right of the driver for reasons I can't remember now.

They're rather effective :)

I've never used one, I'm quite looking forward to it but as yet am unsure if I've connected the pipes the right way round.

am now sure they were the wrong way round.
had to cut the ends off the pipes, swap the nuts over and plug them back in again. about an hour wasted buggering about but the worst bit is because I've bent, straightened and bent the pipes again they've become work hardened and the curves aren't all nice and smooth like they were the first time.
outcome: back brakes now work and handbrake works too :)
would have got the front bled tonight as well but the bleed screws are stuck in and I'll have to tickle them with the Gentle Persuasion Device, can't do that while Seren's asleep upstairs.
which reminds me, Seren's started asking to help with the car and loves getting in and out and steering and waggling all the switches which is great fun for me. She's recently started demanding a spanner and then sitting on the edge of the engine bay tightening/loosening anything in her radius. This is at no times helpful and sometimes quite damaging but it is super sweet.

She'll earn barely any XP from doing that. Give her the Oxy-torch and show her how to cut things.

That’s so lovely, and the kind of thing that makes precious pictures and memories.

Darwin helped us fix the garage the other day, which involved lots of jabbing things with a screwdriver. Cute, but unhelpful.

My boss was doing some light DIY the other day. He turned around just in time to watch his daughter, with a screwdriver in each fist, punch them into the screen of his TV.

It survived, but has two bright spots now where the backlight is bleeding through what I assume is a damaged layer of LCD.

I've decided I like keyless entry and keyless start now that I have seats whereby I can sit comfortably with the keys in my pocket. The problem with the Type-R was the seats were so buckety, I had to take the keys out of my pocket, which meant I'd be better off having an ignition to put them in.

Fortunately the seats in the i30N are a bit less extreme, so now I can enjoy all the advantages of modern gizmo tech.

The car detects when the key is getting close and folds the mirrors out, as well as putting on a puddle light and an LED light in the door handles, to make pressing the button to unlock the doors and open the door nice and easy in the dark. (One can unlock/lock the car using a button on the door handle, or the button on the key.)

Fuel economy isn't looking amazing, I reckon it'll settle down to about 30mpg long term, which is 3.8mpg less than the ST. Add in the smaller fuel tank (50 litres as opposed to 60 litres) and petrol station visits are a bit more frequent. I'll see how it goes though, long term mpg is slowly improving, as it had a couple of weeks over TT, and barrelling along at 145mph isn't conducive to fuel efficiency.

I overtook an i30N yesterday in my Puma. Please have a word with your fellow owners about not going 40mph everywhere.

To be expected really with such a high performance car. Is it worse than you expected though?

I believe Hyundai have fixed this on their cars now, although they were on the 'vulnerable' list. Either way it's a non-issue here because car crime isn't a thing.

Apparently in the UK people are putting their keys in Faraday Cage type boxes and stuff to try and stop the relay theft attacks?

It's about what I was expecting, it's a bit worse on CO2 as well so tax will be a bit more too.

In terms of raw power it's not much up on the ST though, 275bhp versus 252bhp, but it's not really about MEGA POWER NUMBERS so much as the enjoyment of the driving experience, and as childish as it is the exhaust note is smileworthy when it's in SPORT+ mode.

In fairness to myself I called out not liking keyless on the Type-R right out of the gate, on the grounds that I couldn't keep the keys in my pocket as it was uncomfortable -

Should have two lots of cover on Friday after MrsA nipped down the road and sorted out the purchase of a 3008 1.6 diesel, (2015, 20k miles) and got 10% off.

Seems pretty nice inside, and roomy. I like the splitt tailgate. I spent about 3 minutes having a quick nosey. The trip computer told me for the past 6.5k miles it has averaged 48mpg at 28mph. It'll last a day before I hit the gate with it.

I’m sure I’ve said this before, but there’s a gen 1 Audi A3 in Islington, that has the number plate A3 which must be worth significantly more than the car.

Oh that reminds me, I saw a car I don't think I've seen before this morning. It went past too quickly to get a photo of it,#

It was I think British racing green in colour, had a twin exhaust in the middle of the car (square pipes I think too) and it had it's name written across the back in large letters. Quite Sporty looking.

I thought to myself that I would google it later, but now it's later and I can't remember what it said (doh) Can anyone work out what it was from that really poor description? (I saw it for about 3 seconds)
