It's not too bad if you set the back and side heat to 80% and only put 20% through the base.

Wait...can your car not do that?

Heated seats are great. Sadly my current car doesn't have them, but Lady T's does. We use the heated seats quite frequently.

They're great for stealth activating and making your passenger thinking they've had an accident.

They don't make me feel like I've pissed myself. I clearly don't have enough self pissing experience to recognise the sensation...

You can buy heated seat cushions off Amazon that plug into the 12V socket - I have some in the Yaris.

I quite like them, but I wonder if they work better with leather seats, as they’re genuinely cold some mornings.

The heated seats I've had in the past were horrible but on minimum the one in my superb is warm enough to comfort without feeling like I've wet myself. Maybe it's the alcantara, maybe it's the heated wheel.

They work wonderfully well on leather seats. Cold leather seats are not nice feeling to my botty.

I really like them in winter, but even in summer I might use mine for a bit if my back is aching. It can really help to relax it.

I do have severe doubts about them, especially now that all the other manufacturers are starting to invest heavily in EVs. But I think that their cars really helped shake things up, I mean I love my little Leaf but it's fugly, it's not something most people see and want. So I'm glad they came along to point out that the way to get people to buy electric cars is to make them decent looking and fast.

I got a power point that does more than this car is actually capable of, just as future proofing really. They're going to see if they can get away with just lowering the maximum output which will still be more than this car can take anyway.

Update on this just in case anyone was still worrying. The pod people spoke to the electricity people again and apparently it's fine because it has a load sensor.

Has anyone ever had a go with one of these sorts of things?

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Manelord-Repai ... 07HQ3T1SF/

Been watching some YouTube vids and results seem to vary a bit.

Just going round the new car tidying bits up and there's a small dent where it's obviously been hit with a door, the paint is intact. It's just not something I'm fussed enough about to get done professionally.

Have you looked at what's involved with taking the door card off and maybe (depending on position of dent) pushing it back out from the inside?

Yeah, I've got all the service manuals and it looks a bit of a faff. So I don't really want to get into that, the car is super quiet and if I ended up with a little rattle due to a busted clip or something it would drive me insane.

I dunno, it looks pretty easy when it works. Just had another quick look at it and it's actually so near the edge that removing the inside panel wouldn't help.

i have the kit but have never used the kit, due to the idea of hot-glueing something directly onto the paintwork feeling too bananas to sensibly countenance.

JLR droitwich continue to demonstrate their competence - they only just got round to cancelling the tax on the disco Helen gave back in, what, August?

Helen couldn't do it because shed already given the v5 back because they put the wrong name on it at initial registration, then couldn't find it some claimed it must have been done... The refund came back with the same wrong name on it, so presumably they never fixed that either.

Helen is still so traumatised by it all she can't face going to demand reimbursement of the intervening 6 months, so I'm going to have to do it.

I assume this means they've only just sold the car on...

Would "gdpr" be a good acronym to throw into the conversation when they inevitably try to weasel out of it?

Probably don't leave your boot open in the rain.

Post subject:  Re: Gas Guzzling Money Pits

Huh? This is a design flaw where if you open your boot in the rain or after it has rained then all the water from the boot lid cascades down into the boot. Every car I ever had with a boot had a big enough gutter to catch it as it ran down.

I'd still bloody love a Tesla Model 3, though. I'd just remember to open the boot slowly if it's wet.
