The main thing is it has alloys.

34,000k would be way too many miles. Unless you mean 34,000 kilometres…

Those tape adapters sound terrible.

A colleague has just gone through this for the 1992 Corvette C4 he recently imported. He reports they’ve actually gotten worse, somehow, because they’re so niche now the better ones are no longer being made so you’ve only got the bottom-of-the-barrel ones left.

I have absolutely no doubt you're all right but consider the following:

1. When I'm in the car with them, the radio will be on rather than the shite they listen to.
2. Tape thing plus iPhone adaptor + postage cost less than £10 so I ain't expecting incredible sound quality or longevity.
3. It's not my car so I don't care what the stereo is like.
4. If they want Bluetooth capabilities, they can buy their own cars.
5. I have Queen: It's a Kinda Magic on cassette.
6. 13 Reasons Why has made cassettes popular and trendy.
7. It's retro. Its uncoolness makes it extremely cool.

Fin.

Even your lists are retro, get with the times grandma!

No clickbait title, no autoplaying video, how am I supposed to know when one bullet point is finished and the next one has started if I haven't clicked next and loaded a new page?

Glue the tape into the cassette player and glue it to on.

It is a curious natural phenomenon that any cassette tape left in a car for an extended period of time will become Queen's first Greatest Hits album.

Rang up about my car today as they said last week it'd be ready "early next week". Turns out the owner of the garage died so they're a couple of days behind.

I had a nice chat with him as he was getting his BMW 330ci ready for the 'Ring last week. I don't think it was related. :'(

It might be now. He also had a Saxo stripped out with roll cage for UK track days and a Polo GTI with stage 3 remap and turbo.

Currently looking at Mk5 GTi Golves on Autotrader. Fancy a change to something a bit more fun but that won't lose too much money. From reading around these seem fairly well-regarded incarnation of the GTi. Seems like I can get a decent one for £5-6k or so.

Was looking at this one but can't quite figure out of they've tried to photoshop out some fag burns or something from the driver's seat:

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified ... 4165607296

Not necessarily a deal-breaker but hmm.

Ha. I think you're right. The damage itself isn't something that would necessarily be a deal-breaker, but for me that kind of deceitful behavior from a seller would make it a no-go.

He has a lot of really good genuine looking feedback from verified customers, though. He just phoned me after I filled in the form to get a valuation on my car from them, he was pretty chill and not pushy sounding. I mentioned the seat and he said it was like gum or something stuck in there, they're going to try and sort it.

I always do this, though. Decide to look for a car, decide what sort I want, go on Autotrader, find one that looks ok and then become convinced that it is in fact "the one" and that if I let it get away I'll never find another one like it and be condemned to eternal regret.

Check around the passenger side on the front reg plate, looks like it's been pulled out.

Yeah I noticed that too, but on the video it just looks like the reg plate itself is just bent for some reason. But yeah it could have had a bump.

If I can't talk myself out of it by then I'll probably go and have a look this weekend.

Yeah. By his request, so he could avoid being tempted to log back in and argue about stuff, and obviously with the offer to unban on request.

I filled up once every two or three weeks, at the same place each time. Paid 7p more a litre this time!

What a snowflake needing such special treatment. Just have some self-restraint, man!

Probably for the best. I had to put him on ignore so I wasn't tempted to argue with him anymore. It's a shame as I get on with him well IRL.

I'm going on holiday on Friday and I've got to try and fit a windbreaker in the car to take with us.

Of course, it won't fit as the poles are quite long. Do you reckon it would be safe enough if I tie it to the roof rails on the Nissan Qashqai? We haven't got a roof box or anything that fancy, it's just the standard rails that are fixed on the car. We've only got to travel about 250 miles.

Can you lash it to one of the roof rails with cable ties? Bring a knife to get it off with, obviously.

It would be fine, why wouldn't it? Unless you were planning on lashing it to the roof rails erected.

Reef knot at both ends.

My new Skoda salesperson sent me an email with a link to a video of her sat in front of a superb letting me know my car was built last week and is now on its way over (well, "is waiting", but that was two days ago, by now it should be sitting on the beach in Dover trying to not be set on fire by Theresa May).

Everyone I've shown it to thinks it's a great touch, I think it's a tacky gimmick, but hey, my car is built and they've let me know, so yay!

Helen got an email from her land rover salesperson saying "ring me to come and have a look at your lovely new car and arrange a handover!", but they immediately fucked off on holiday for a week so that's nice, and today some valve caps arrived in the post.

I dunno if that's like a mafia thing, or if we wait long enough eventually we'll have all the bits, or what.

It doesn't actually matter that she's buggered off, bar the principle, as Helen posted the mx5's v5c to update the address literally 2 hours before the email arrived.

Have you accidentally signed up to a PieceWorks car, and you'll get it in 7,000 installments, each with a fascinating magazine, at just £5.99 per edition?

We built a car showroom for "premium brand" cars recently, it's multi franchise so the one-up-manship is ridiculous. A feature light above one of the car display areas costs more than a new Hyundai, and you could buy an Audi R8 for the price of one of the manufacturers branded furniture.

One of the fancy brands is sending over its new 4x4, allegedly. It comes with an optional picnic basket for £20k - again, allegedly.

Naturally, once it's full of fancy cars I'll go back up and have a look.

The tape/aux thing works a treat, by the way! I'm not sure the sound quantity is affected by it anymore than it is by the tinny little door speakers, anyway.

I have the Octavia finally! It still needs some things doing but he'd rather I have it as with the bank holiday and the bereavement I wouldn't have it until late next week, so he's going to call me when the parts arrive and I'll go back with it.

Gosh it's slow, even compared with the Bora. :(
