It's just a shitter version of the normal car that's more of a pain in the arse to park. Or if you want the size of an estate car, with less boot space than a Cayman, get a Forester. For some mysterious reason, Mrs Fop is obsessed with getting a Forester. She has zero interest in cars, but really wants a Forester and is always excited when we see them on the road. I think it's because she thinks they're like the car the mum drives in Ponyo. https://www.pistonheads.com/news/genera ... uide/37775 Buying guide. Pretty good. |

EXCITING ROVER UPDATE! Had I been bombing down the M62 yesterday, there would have been little throttle response for a while. I would drop 2 and floor it and....nothing. in neutral it would bounce of the limiter. There was a bit of an odd noise. After I hypothetically got to Liverpool I might pop the Deeley in and see no error codes. I can only assume handbrake was dragging. |

Mine's in for a service on the 18th, barely 11,000 on it so I expect it to be in and out fairly handily, if only to avoid having to drive a bloody Citroen courtesy car. That said, it took them two full days to get two tyres on it so I'm not that hopeful. |

Insurance renewal insanity. Just had my renewal quote. Last year I paid £383.90. Renewal quote was £473.22 I did a price comparison and got a quote for a NEW policy with the SAME insurer for £338.24, so I called them up to query it and on the phone they’ve given me a renewal at £212.52, i.e. £260.70 less than the original renewal quote and £171.38 less than I paid last year. |

I guess they must make enough extra from the people renewing without questioning it to make the initial quote worth listing? |

My son, who lives with us and is in his late 30s had a renewal quote that was over £100 more than last year and he couldn’t get a significantly cheaper quote via any comparison site. Must be a bastard algorithm somewhere that defies discernible logic. |
