Is the car registered to the right address?

Yep

You'll be fine, then. They have 14 days from the date of the infraction to post the ticket to you, so unless you have horrifically bad postmen it would have arrived by now.

Is that true?

I'm with Grim... Isn't that an urban myth?

It's not a solid date, it seems, but this website seems to think it exists.

Quote:
So what's with the 14 day limit?
The 14 day limit refers to the amount of time that the Police need to process the original Notice of Intended Prosecution. There is a lot of misinformation about the 14 day rule, but the facts are:
  • It’s not up to the police to prove that the NIP reached the registered keeper within 14 days
  • It is up to the police to be able to prove that in the normal course of events, the NIP would have arrived at the last known address of the registered keeper within the 14 day time limit

Basically so you can't use a loophole that you don't live at that address anymore or the postman was on strike.

But... if I genuinely haven't received anything and my registration is correct... I'm all clear!

Phew! That's a load off.

The 28-year-old's next stop is the next round of the World Rally Championship in Sweden in February, but she now has two weeks to come up with the cash or will face losing her place.

Hope she manages to get the cash together.

Any reason why the two sponsors dropped out? Seems like a brilliant opportunity for another company to step in and scoop up masses of cheap PR!

As far as I know, the "urban myth" is that you need to have received the ticket within 14 days, when actually they only have to prove that they posted it out to you within 14 days of the offence.

Could be wrong, though.

I found out when we bought the Mondeo, and Ford tried to get me free insurance.

I got it back by filling in a single form and posting it off. I didn't even have to pay the speeding fine :D

Craster is too lazy to fill out a form ;)

Yesterday I discovered that the Mariva that we've had for years has a tyre compressor in the boot. I always thought it was something to do with that gunk you put in blown tyres but no... It blows up the tyres normally too.

Amazing.
