It does rather demonstrate quite how awesome the elder Manning is though.

I feel a bit sorry for the losers defense , holding the bears for 6 plays at the goal line to force a field goal rather than a touchdown (3 stops then a personal foul after the play had ended and then stopping them another 3 plays) - I think in the end the Bears deserved the win.

And a very surreal moment at the start when loads and loads of people started shouting "Squirrel !" - as a squizzel ran onto the pitch and around the Buc's goalline during the first few plays.

And an even more surreal moment when Zaphod79 jumped onto the pitch, started disrobing and what could only be described as skipping around large padded men.

I'm not that fit - I did notice they beefed up the people watching the gates after that incident - and i did expect when he took his top off that he was going to take everything off but he seemed just to want to run around the pitch

I noticed he didn't run near the offensive or defensive linesmen. Probably because it's their job to demolish pwople.

That would've amused me.

I'm not sure how long it's going to last.

It's not exactly high scoring, and I'm not convinced their defence is up to the task of keeping that not an issue.

I wish Tebow would stop winning games. He's going to take away the Bungles richly deserved playoff place. Ahem.

In other news, awesome Packers vs Giants game last night...

Bungles are in the playoffs! I can't quite believe it - at the start of the season I genuinely thought they'd win a couple of games max. Green and Dalton are legends. They may have snuck in through the back door, but frankly, I couldn't give a shit. WHO DEY!

Oh, and they've won me at least £100 too :D

Tebow will have to learn to throw first. I don't see that happening.

OUR civitas coordinator is called jerome simpson, so he loved the salto touchdown a few weeks ago..

Giants beating the Cowbows (america's team, yuck) after gaining supremacy in the big apple last week.. is nice too
lions in after their disaster 2 years ago i like too, and eagles out after their dream team buys..

yup i'm satisfied..

i do wonder, all the really strong teams are in the NFC, aren't they.. is the NFC championship game not more superbowl worthy this year (packers-saints/niners) than the superbowl itself (packers-ravens/bengals?)

Packers have to be favourites.

Meh, the Bungles made the playoffs. Everything from here is a bonus!

Any opinions on what the Colts will do with the #1 pick? Andrew Luck is the obvious pick, but they already have Peyton. Decisions, decisions...

Packers have to be favourites - even their backup qb can break records by chucking 6 touchdowns 8) Only teams that may have a chance of stopping them are Saints and Ravens (maybe Steelers is Roethlisberger gets properly fit). Saints - Packers NFC Championship game would be an awesome shootout.

Colts will definitely draft Luck, barring injuries. I beginning to doubt if Manning will ever play again.

I was looking at the odds this morning, and they are massive faves. 13/8 on Ladbrokes. The Pats are next best at 4-1, and Baltimore are 8-1.

Might make a few flutters.

Indeed. The Saints are 5-1. I was just surprised at the length of the Ravens' odds. I'll go with a couple of those decent odds ones and of course a punt on my Steelers, at 12-1.

Maybe a quid on the 80-1 Broncos. ;)

Baltimore a good shout at those odds. Very little talk of the 49ers here, so they'll probably win it.

I really wouldn't.

That quarterback is awful a running back. And they're now going to be stuck with him for a while, it seems.

Bah, I say, BAH!

Denver are playing some good D, and have a phenominal running game, two things that really help in the play-offs.

Admittedly, I'm expecting them to get bounced in the Wild Card round, but I've seen stranger things happen than Tebow going to the Superbowl.

the tebow discussion is really weird....

he won everything in college, than they kept on discussing what he would do next..
he got picked at a reasonable spot..
doesn't start as a quarterback.. people say he should turn into a running back (why would one ever want to do that if one has been a quarterback)
then he finally gets a chance a season later.. coach doesn't want to adapt to him, but he still wins
and still people don't believe him..

Saint! Saints!

The college game is, of course, quite different. Until I actually saw him play, I would've expected college success to transfer. Now, I'm
Quote:
he got picked at a reasonable spot..

By someone who got fired shortly after.
Quote:

Because generally, you want a quarterback at the position. Denver haven't really.
Quote:
then he finally gets a chance a season later.. coach doesn't want to adapt to him, but he still wins

And before they adapted the offence, he was completely lost.
Quote:
and still people don't believe him..

Because he was generally bad during most of those wins bar one drive at the end. Against good teams, you typically need more than one drive.

Granted, slightly different D quality, but Trent Dilfer won a Super Bowl.

So all the BEEX teams made it through? Good work lads!

Evens a Packers fan I can't justify us being that big of a favourite... we can't stop ANYONE scoring, so all it takes is one team to raise their game defensively and I think they'll do us. I've got a feeling the Saints are running hot and will be the team to beat, though imilar concerns about them of course. The AFC teams don't look as thrilling on paper but the strong D of Baltimore and Pittsburgh especially make them legitimate if ugly Superbowl contenders. And of course, Tom Brady always seems to manage to win the Superbowl regardless of anything else

My picks for the first round -

Giants bring a performance against the flaky Lions
49ers lock down Falcons
Steelers too strong for Broncos
Bungles/Texans game too close to call, tossed a coin and came down Bungles, this one settled in the last 2 minutes.

Predictions :
-Lions
-Bengals
-49ers
-steelers
-That I will pay attention to Albertos completely bollocks list of NFC wildcard games as compared to the actual match ups. (I predict Giants and Saints on the actual games, having now looked at the schedule)
-That I will have a 50% success rate on those.

Haha, I just worked out what I thought the match-ups were, the NFL website always acts up for me so I never checked :D

Strangely, I fancy the Falcons to beat the Giants more than I fancied the Lions, so my picks are Steelers/Bengals/Saints/Falcons.

The Houston O-Line just dominated second half. I could have rushed for 100 yards behind them! Would have been interesting if whatshisname hadn't missed the easy interception.

Ah well. Two first round picks to come, we should be strengthening in the next few years.

On one game where he does ok for more than a drive or two? No.

Against a side with a severely damaged offense?

Don't get me wrong, I love seeing the steelers lose.

I will make a point in Tebow's defence (other than 350 all-purpose yards, 3 touchdowns, no interceptions is 'OK'?), and that is how Pittsburgh decided to play him... They loaded the line, they tried to take away the run (and succeeded mostly) and dared Tebow to throw long passes. So thats exactly what he did. He averaged 15.5 yards per attempt. That is phenomenal. (Roethlisberger managed 7.23 yards per attempt).

Sure, Pittsburgh was banged up, but it's playoff football... everyone's banged up. Characterising the game as 'perfectly healthy Broncos beat broken down Steelers team' is unfair. The last three games, the Broncs have lost three Offensive starters, including their starting RT (remember, Tebow is a lefty, so the Right Tackle is the most important lineman)
