My X-Wing is coming Monday apparently, which is pretty damn quick considering that "Irene" from Aliexpress only messaged me to confirm my postcode last Friday.

What did that cost you? Been keeping away from anything over £30 to avoid customs charges

£50. Customs don't know the value of anything unless it's written on the package. There's always a chance but in my experience it's a fairly small one.

Ah ok so they deal with it like that, was wanting to get some bigger models but not so great if you get hit with 20% plus post office charges.

Made a start on the X-Wing today. Everything seems fine so far with the bricks grouped together with similar types so whilst finding the parts for each step requires a bit of zen it stops short of being annoying like some mental jigsaw and remains enjoyable. Our 4 year old daughter is pretty good at popping the pieces together once I've found them all however at this current rate of progress it will take several weeks. Although I expect that she'll get bored after a few more sessions and let me do some by myself.

Well they sometimes open things up but it seems not to be that frequent.

These are the sets we got for Christmas, pretty impressed how much care my son shows these.

Bits come off during play but he always comes to me and asks me to fix them

We've been steadily chipping away at Red 5. Ace fun to do, it'll be a decent size when it's finished too!

Thanks! I think holding the very large Lego model probably makes me look a bit smaller/younger too.

Everything fitted perfectly, no missing parts but a few extras. I'm fucked if I'd ever spend £200+ on something like this but for £50 it was well worth it.

Good to know, I have an order from AliExpress thats arrived just a small set to try out, I've always just bought figures from them.

If this is OK I'm getting a bigger 800 piece model next, probaly the Sith Infiltrator, then the moterised AT-AT Walker after that.

I got some new Lego for my birthday, I've been building it for a couple of hours over the last two nights, should finish it tomorrow I think. Below are the buildings I have finished, along with my Technic bucket wheel excavator.

I love doing them, can't wait for them to release more! The diner, which is the latest one and the one I'm building now is amazing, the detail and inventiveness is incredible.

The set I got from you splits into two individual townhouse sized buildings or I'd never have got them all on the shelf! I don't know how I'm going to squeeze the diner in there.

I only bought the shelves last week so not the best planning!

Yep, it's handy there. I've got mine in two halves stood on the speakers in the lounge. I've still not built any of the others I own.

That excites me more than you'll know... Also, get that Amiga back in that box!

The A500 on top is my Amiga from when it was new. There’s another in far better condition in the box that I’d picked up somewhere along the way, then an A600 HD in the bottom box.

I’ve sold a huge amount of the collection of consoles and computers that were there, and yes I would consider offloading some Amiga games.

Cool, I may well be interested. What about the NES stuff? And that Gameboy pocket?

Author:  Dr Zoidberg [ Wed Sep 26, 2018 21:52 ]
Post subject:  Re: Lego (picture-rich thread)

I have a Gameboy Pocket?
The NES isn’t going anywhere as that’s pretty irreplaceable, and I wouldn’t part with any of the Amiga games I bought at retail, but I know I have duplicates and later purchases. I’ll have a proper look at the weekend and see what’s spare. There’s more boxes not shown too.

Well if you let me know then that would be very much appreciated! And yes, I think that's a gameboy pocket box in the NES games.

It's not going anywhere, and there's plenty that is built and on display. A lot of the boxes at the top are empty.
The unbuilt stuff is mostly Modulars and UCS Star Wars sets.
