I've not put my hands on any yet, but this article suggested it was good, but not as good. There are manufacturing defects you'd hardly ever see with Lego, but none was game-changing.

I didn’t find the article snobby, so much. The guy must have some kind of background in injection moulding plastics to know so many technical details, so I think he’s actively looking and finding flaws that others would shrug ‘oh well’ at, but which he is examining in such a way that makes him seem like he’s looking down his nose at every component. I think, though, for a Lego fan site it’s surprisingly more balanced than maybe expected, especially silly as the author would be walking a fine line because it was always going to upset some people and there’d be pressure not to be seen to endorse the Off-brand.

Some of those comments are ridiculous, though.

I quite enjoyed reading that article. Our oldest has just got into Lego in a big way, which is great. This Christmas I spent hours building the batmobile and some Ninjago airship thing.

Wilkinsons/Wilko/whatever they’ve branded it now sell off-brand Lego, and it’s cheap and well made. They have some sets for kids and the like, but they also have a brick pick n mix station where you pay fir a tub and fill it with whichever bricks you fancy. They also sell base plates very cheaply, all great for imaginative building Ng or if you want to build a structure to mount things on in a frame, for example.

The LED strip and battery pack cost 4 quid from eBay and makes a huge difference.

£50. Customs don't know the value of anything unless it's written on the package. There's always a chance but in my experience it's a fairly small one.

Ah ok so they deal with it like that, was wanting to get some bigger models but not so great if you get hit with 20% plus post office charges.

Everything fitted perfectly, no missing parts but a few extras. I'm fucked if I'd ever spend £200+ on something like this but for £50 it was well worth it.

The set I got from you splits into two individual townhouse sized buildings or I'd never have got them all on the shelf! I don't know how I'm going to squeeze the diner in there.

I only bought the shelves last week so not the best planning!
