Yeah, and he's got farmland where he grows organic produce and rides a pushbike and shit. I don't think he really cares if people think he's TV Clarkson in real life, though - it just means the character is working. |

Was it Jeremy Clarkson the actor or Jeremy Clarkson the character he portrays that lamped a member of the production staff? The problem is, if you act the character of an arse under your own name, on TV, during work to your colleagues, in your newspaper column, then it’s not the audience’s fault that the fact your character spills over into your life makes your real-life self unpalatable. Whether Piers Morgan, or Katie Hopkins, started out their gig playing the baddie with outrageous views for cash, the moment they put their name to being bigots for whatever gain, they became those bigots. |
