I have just realised that since I'm loaded with a cold I would benefit from a hot toddy so I think will be drinking whisky tonight.

The biggest issue is that when someone jumped down and missed everybody else, they would compensate by driving slower/faster next time as required, but everyone else at the bottom would also be compensating by moving to where the jumper just landed so they would still miss second time :D

Plus comedy takedowns and general about-fuckery at the bottom of the cliff at the same time as someone was taking a run up (Although I managed to get my takedown once on the first go, by hitting someone who was playing at Drifting Equilibrium).

And Lave trying to convince using some astrophysics mumbojumbo that if we were moving around there was more chance of being hit, we just had to move in a certain pattern? :DD As if we needed any motivation to move around!

You should all be pointing the same way, and the guy/girl in mid-air could shout "Forwards!" or "Backwards!" to try to ge the hit.

I sat down to try and finish off all the horrible, horrible stunt runs. I found a good collection of stunts up on the beach I could do and so would drive halfway across the map to get there and do all the stunts there.

For the ones in the mountains I used the airfield. Now I have just two to go... one is 400,000 so I'm assuming the last one will be 500,000. I've gotten these scores before so it's not a problem to do that, it's the fucking starting location which keeps tempting me to try and get everything on the South Bay Expressway... and then I end up on the railway overhead and stupidly try to get down by just driving off the edge except this flips you over and kills you. Or the traffic does... it spawns a car across an intersection or a shitty hatchback where you're going to land so you're guaranteed to smash.

But... WHY WHY WHY does it insist on taking control of my car and driving three blocks on the 'YOU FAILED!' screen, ALWAYS away from the starting point? And where the fuck is the 'instant restart last challenge' button that Criterion were supposed to be adding?

Work your way to Big Surf island with judicious use of the boost button to keep combo alive when time is out. Getting 8 million odd on there isn't at all hard.

I have no issues with tapping boost every now and then to keep it alive... I don't have Big Surf Island, though.

I suspect for this challenge I'll do the large quantity of ramps around the starting area and then go back to the beach.

Best area to get a good stunt run is the quarry/south expressway bridge (if you don't have the island)... barrel roll into the quarry from above, up the huge conveyor ramp with billboard then follow the road back to the street... head south over the Rockridge Cliff superjump, barrel rolling over that, then jumps galore over the expressway bridge and if you still need points then an alleyway on the right immediately at the east end of the bridge has a few more superjumps/billboards. It shouldn't be too much of a pain to get to this area from any point in the west or south sides of the map... if you're approaching from the SE corner like it sounds, just start off with the expressway bridge jumps and then work your way up to the quarry and back again, should be more than enough.

I found the 'restart last event' button, it's cunningly hidden away in the menu you bring up with the right dpad (you know, the one I've never used ever). Given I've done just about every event in the countryside, events ending at the wind farm have meant a tedious drive back to the city - UNTIL NOW! Once I've won, I restart the event, and then just sit there at the starting line until it times out. I'm then back in the downtown core and ready to go to do something else.

Also, I found that you can get the new cars you need to 'shut down' to appear by just driving around the I-88 - they tend to appear within one lap.

That's the most useful and timely piece of info I've ever found out on this forum I think, given that I'm down to the last 20 or so events and am tired of having to re-load the game to put myself near all the start points after I've failed to win a race.

I also used Albinzero's route for some stunt runs last night. I missed out on the 1 million point run by a mere handful of points after missing the alleyway after the bridge and then not being able to find any decent jumps, before flipping my car going over oen of those weird little ones at the side of the road. DOH!

I enjoy the stunt runs. Not so keen on the Showtime Road Rules.

I'm sure I'd get as much use out of the massive expensive island as I have out of the massively expensive Gears of War 2 DLC.

I "need" one or two freeburn challenges to "complete" Surf Island. So yes, especially if there's any chance of doing that.

Oh, and a couple of smashes, which I can't find :S

I'm up for that. They're not player number specific, are they?

There's loads of bike challenges I need to do.
