Having a beer after a great hike and reading the news on my phone with a big smile on my face. Not felt like this about UK politics for a long, long time.

I’m looking forward to seeing what they do, and hopefully proving the doommongers wrong.

I don’t have any great sense of optimism and positivity like I did when Blair was elected though.

Looks like JBR is our political mastermind, with Kern a close second and Mimi not far off in third

Silly Bob lived up to the name with a disastrous score.

Happy enough with 5th, given mine was predicting what I thought was the upper bounds of each party's reach

Well Done JBR and thanks Zoidberg

We don’t manage to stay up last night.

Got to midnight and Russell bailed, so I followed out of solidarity. He hit up at sometime around 2am and was violently sick a few times, and he tested positive for Covid this afternoon. Adding a fantastic twist to our 10th anniversary in a few days, we will be spending the day quarantined apart.

Seems like an overly strong response to the good news!

Without wishing to get too blokey (cor! eh chaps!) Penny is for me one of those 'slightly-inappropriate-although-I'm-not-really-sure-why crushes'. She did look spiffing holding that big sword.

So, the Rawanda scheme is dead and buried, we just need to see if we can have our money back. And James Timpson is Prisons Minister.

Interesting start.

I'd not heard of him before last week , but watched an interview with him , and read the details from the weekend and thought 'he seems to know what he's talking about' , and thats a very strange thing to see in politics

Have we finally decided its actually worth listening to , and getting information from 'experts'

I'd heard of James through his dad's book Upside Down Management (which is a concept James also apparently has a book on). The whole family biz story / Timpsons setup is really interesting. Genuinely hopeful that this is a positive sign of good things to come from a government who know what they're doing. Not sure I'd have said that about Kier a week ago either.

The is an air of hope at work for the first time in a VERY long time.

Labour have also overturned a stupid ban on construction of on-shore wind farms.

Another small but positive change
