I remember playing a pirated copy of PoP:SoT when it came out and it was fucking excellent, and (as I was telling Jem last night) was the first time a game’s story made me cry.

Turns out it’s still just as good, and (some quirks aside) works brilliantly on the Steam Deck… which considering that the game pre-dates Steam* is quite impressive.

* almost, Steam was released a month before the game, but of course the game would have been in development long before Steam’s release so it still counts

So you wait years for something interesting to be released and in the course of a couple of months we get the System Shock Remake, Jagged Alliance 3 (JA2 and XCom had a murder baby armed with grenades) and Baldur's Gate 3...these are strange times we live in.
