Ours had its first outing last weekend, after a *lot* of cleaning as it always gets quite furry over winter in the shed.

Mould!

I follow the Doc's advice, when finished give the grill a scrub and open all the intake and exhaust (if you have a lid) so it's heats up enough to burn all the bits off, much less of an issue.

Yep, even though we clean it before putting it away it gets a coating of mould inside the lid and base. Fortunately it’s easy wash down with hot soapy water, then fire it up for half an hour to kill everything off, and then give it another wash.

That's the good thing about this Ninja Woodfire thing. You wipe it down and then it's small enough to fit in zip-up container.

We’ve never had mould in ours, but we do make sure to clean it u until its sparkling. That’s probably against some kind of BBQ lore, where the residual bits keep it seasoned, but I like it when it’s all shiny and clean.
