Hi folks, my brother (who some of you met at a quiz many years ago) has asked if it’s possible to get some knowledge on getting a new router.

I’ve asked for a few details on the current set-up/issues, and they are as below:

Using Onesteam via Open Reach

Currently on Asus DSL-N16 with N300 Complete Networking

Main thing I want is ability to run dual banding for 2.4GHz and 5GHz but any improvement in coverage etc would not go unappreciated.

*Updated to remove list of beers and add this bit:*

The only stipulation they have on their website is that it allows input of DSL credentials.

Really took a delicious turn at the end, there. I'd vote for the Oatmeal Stout.

Oh, haha, sorry, we were talking about what he’s brewing AND routers and I must have copied and pasted the wrong chunk of message.

Edited the post and added in the bit that I had missed earlier.

Is the DSL Creds the only stipulation? Draytek makes some very good routers but they're expensive.

Thank you.

Hullo again,

He called them up and said:

So just needs to have a built in modem and VDSL enabled.

They recommend this one (which they sell for £65):
TP-Link AC1200 Wireless MU-MIMO VDSL/ADSL Modem Router, Dual-Band, Wi-Fi Speed Up To 1.2 Gbps, OneMeshTM, Versatile Connectivity, 4 x Gigabit Ports +1x 2.0 USB Port, Easy setup (Archer VR400 V3) https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08DVGFRXW/ ... WWVX2PVNAR
