It was the same for me when I rejected the first offer from the Mattress Tester job.

I’ll tell you what made me happy yesterday:

I’m not that active on Twitter but I had an interaction with past Beex member, WTB. It was really small and provoked a laugh from him. But it made me happy and I kinda miss him from the forum. It’s nice to see that he’s still a gamer though and still enjoying the hobby.

Awesome, MaliA.

Such a nice day that I thought to stick a book in my bag as I wandered to the Post Office, then read a whole book on the way back, all outside. It felt like an enormous change from the norm.

How short was that book? Or how fast do you read? Or how slow do you walk? Or how far away is your local post office?!

Reading a book while walking?

Ah yes, this is not clear. I walked to the Post Office. Then I stopped only a few metres from the PO, sat down on a bench by the River Lea, and read half a book. Then I needed a pee, so I finished my walk, via a remote-ish woody bit, and sat in the garden to finish the book.

ah! That sounds most excellent and lovely.

I've always been suspicious of book walkers.

I did do way back when - late 1990s, walking to university (several miles), I resented the bus fare, but also resented the time spent walking, so read, a bit, while walking. Woodhouse has big wide pavements, at least. Now I'd be listening to podcasts, which is a little more sociable.

Thursday - nipped into work, it was lovely to see everyone.
Friday - zoom calls with two groups of friends
Saturday - did very little and it was GOOD.
Sunday, cut out and arranged lots of pattern pieces.
Monday - lie in, first day of annual leave. Nipped to the shops and to the village and started to clean and sort some of the house and start sewing.
Today, sorted out the garage (huge job, I hurt) sat outside for a while with the cat. I'm now in shorts and t-shirt trying not to ache while waiting for the quiz.

I have had a builder in today to fix a buggered floor. It is lovely and does not squeak any more.

It feels good that all the rubbish bits of my house are being fixed.

Just getting a quote for a fence. then my garden will look a lot better.

I think it will be the bathroom..

All this work I can now afford, seem to be making a positive impact on me, and I feel a lot better. As the house was getting me down.

Oh, who did you use? My landing is DRIVING ME MAD. Parts of it feel like they're sinking, and other parts are squeaky as hell. I was looking around for someone to come and fix it yesterday but wasn't sure who the best person to use would be (carpenter type person or builder or what!)

This is great, Nov. Glad to hear it.

Longer days and hopefully more sun will help us all too.

Right, that's March done. I can get back to being miserable. It's April 1st, meaning it's April Fool's Day, a public festival that ought to have been consigned to the flames a long time ago.

Some really good and more substantial positivity in this thread from various posters, so thanks for sharing it.

Darwin woke us up with about fifty April Fools jokes in a row, but then really did believe Russell when he told him that his school was moved overnight and was now on the moon, so they couldn’t walk to school today and he’d have to go in a rocket instead.

We had the bi-folds fully open for most of yesterday (until Topher saw a field mouse I had disturbed, grabbed it and went bounding towards Joans in the extension while I was yelling down the garden not to let him in and Joans in one pretty swift move managed to flail his arms at the cat and close the bi-folds).
