We've just been to stay with some friends in Cornwall for a few days. They're ex next door neighbours who moved down there a few years ago.

They're a nice couple, but sometimes I think they're a bit 'away with the fairies.'

The man of the house often has money making ideas that are a bit bizarre, rarely thought through in detail, and none of them has come to anything so far.

We were discussing developments in new technology and he was of the opinion that this might be the last time we'd need to drive the 320 or so miles to see them, as he's convinced that Star Trek styles transporters will be available within the next couple of years.

I want my brain to be digitised, emailed, and uploaded to a body at the destination.

It is also why I don't have any tattoos, as I reckon I could sell the blank canvas to someone older than me at a later date, and upload my brain somewhere else.

It seems my friend was right. Tom Cruise couldn't possibly have got from Paris to Hollywood in three minutes by motor bike and plane.

I mean, I don't know... that sounds like something of an impossible mission, and I gather he's quite experienced in matters of that nature.

This is one of those "spot the difference" things you get in those puzzles books you get to take on your long distance bus/train/car holidays in the 80s right?

What happened there? Stock shortage leading to a manager saying, "fuck it stick whatever we have there"?

Same SKU number and different packaging?

Always set up a new SKU rather than change the BoMs, kids.

You almost look like brothers in that photo. Scary.

Also, those stones behind you look fake. Hope you didn't pay money to get in!

Perhaps I should use my 'new' English Heritage membership to go and check out those sweet stones too. Don't hang around for me though.

I have discovered the following:

Online courses I can open Microsoft word, and click "dictate" button. It transcribes everything said.

Then, I copy and paste it all into ChatGPT and ask it to summarize it all and pull out key points.

BOOM

Then you check it over and find it has
a) done a good job
b) done a moderately okay job and never completely trust it again?

I realise b requires some kind of oversight from someone who cares, and this probably doesn't have that - do you now have a cursory knowledge of this subject? Hooray, corporate training is working! But it does seem more realistic.

We have to be careful and can only use co-pilot as the accounts I work on are secure.
