Please excuse my ignorance, but what is the cause of the increase in army planes and helicopters in British skies? All of the above. There are plenty of NATO planes doing patrols up and down the border with Ukraine - a mixture of fighters, unmanned drones and airborne radar, plus tankers. Some are based in the Uk but mostly to the west of you.

Some of the cargo planes are delivering supplies to the Ukrainians via Poland and other neighbours, and they have been going over the midlands.

There are more US fighters here than normal, based at Lakenheath, and they are doing low level training in wales so you’ll see them going past. F16s as well as the more common F15s that we get

There’s also B52s flying out of Fairford but again not so busy over the midlands.

Flightradar24 is good to identify what they are and where they are going.

We’ve got a few dark grey military planes going over jjst now. I tried to look them up on flightradar but either I’m using it wrong or they aren’t in there.

They are big, stubby dark grey things.

Could be one of these https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lockheed_C-130_Hercules or these https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Airbus_A400M_Atlas

Not everything military is on Flightradar24 as they turn off the civilian transponder when they don’t want to be too easily tracked.

I know enough about planes to say it looked like both of those. It definitely had four of the propellor things.

https://military.freedar.uk/VirtualRadar/mobile.html can show a bit more, and filters out all the civilian stuff.
Air Force 1 is heading over Cambridgeshire right now for example.

Haha!! That’s brilliant.

There was a wood pigeon sitting right by our chimney yesterday as when I was trying to concentrate it was ‘cooo-cooooo, coo, cooo-coooing’ out of the fireplace :D

He was in Poland to meet US troops and Ukrainian ministers.
I think it’s possibly now landed at RAF Mildenhall where a lot of US Air Force are based as it’s dropped off the radar.

Happy birthday Curio! Thanks Beexers!

Been mainly babysitting the niece, running around the garden going beep beep with a greedy toy ridingmower. I have burnt off approximately 9,000 calories.

Whoops, missed it again, but Beex turned 14 a few days ago (26th March).

It can now go into a pub on its own, go to a gig on its own, and be fined for not wearing a seatbelt. Good work, Beex!

I had a lovely day thank you. We've made a start on sorting the house out which is something that's been bothering me for ages. Ended the day with a Chinese and a crap film. Brilliant. :)

Getting a new dishwasher installed today so I've moved my old one out of its bay. What was beneath was quite disgusting but thankfully it wasn't too stuck to the flooring so I was able to clean it up pretty well.

When the new one comes I won't need to think about it again for another decade or so. Might leave a note to for the future.

In what I initially thought was an issue with this site, with none of the icons in the bottom right of the site working. It turns out that my mouse won't click on anything in the bottom right of this monitor.

If I drag this window to my other monitor, then I can click on anything and it works fine.

but anywhere in the bottom right third of this monitor clicking doesn't do anything (the task bar works though, it's just everything above that!)

I will be rebooting to check to see if that fixes it, but I just don't understand what could be causing it
