I know this is different but there reports coming out that medics have been telling people who get this bad and recover, that it will take a long time to clear your system.

Yeah, real flu is shit, so when people say the covids is 'just the flu' I point out that what they have experienced in the past when they had a 'touch of the flu' almost certainly wasn't really flu at all but just a bad cold.

I've only had a proper flu once, and haven't had it as bad as Snappa, but when I did it was fucking shit; I couldn't get out of bed for days and was too ill to watch telly, play video games, read or do anything other than just lay in bed. It was horrid.

I recall at the time feeling annoyed, it felt like a 'waste' of being home sick and not being able to do anything comforting/distracting like I normally would on a sick-day... until I relaised that, shit, this is what really being actually properly sick really is - not just a bit poorly. It changed my perspective and made me more careful with how i labelled things.

"It wasn't flu, just a cold" is absolute bunk. You can have flu without being as ill as that, just like coronavirus symptoms vary from one individual to the next. Or are we going to start telling people they've not had "proper coronavirus" unless they ended up on a ventilator? Hopefully this might make people a bit more careful around others when they're full of a cold. Because it might well be flu and the next person they give it to might be less fortunate than them wrt their symptoms.

I was 20, fit and healthy. I was in bed for nearly three weeks. For at least 10 of those days I felt like I’d been dropped down a lift shaft. It even hurt when I blinked. I think I’d caught what was called at the time szchenuan ‘flu

Yeah I had a 3 month chest infection a few years ago. That was way worse than this.

Symptoms still lingering though. Most medical advice I've seen suggests I'm probably no longer contagious, but I'm still operating under the assumption that I am until after my symptoms are 100% cleared up.

I'm not sure any of our neighbours are paying attention to the guidelines. On one side they had a family BBQ complete with elderly parents, on the the other side I heard the woman say she was going to see her mum for an hour, which would be fine but her husband is still working every day so the risk there must be increased. Madness.

If you look just at the one screenshot in the tweet you linked to alone, it looks a lot like bullshit. It's an utterly unconvincing profile. Even the govt could do better than that, if it set out to do this.

I've woken up to read that the President of the United States suggested on television that people drink bleach

Quote:
"And then I see the disinfectant where it knocks it out in a minute,” Trump said. “One minute! And is there a way we can do something, by an injection inside or almost a cleaning? Because you see it gets in the lungs and it does a tremendous number on the lungs, so it’d be interesting to check that. So, that you’re going to have to use medical doctors with, but it sounds interesting to me."

Of course, this might be a cherrypicked quote but I find I can't watch him without finding myself becoming 15% stupider every minute, and the transcripts tend to be an insult to those infinite typing monkeys.

Once Trump realises that he can bathe the earth in bleach or disinfectant for the population to breath in the fumes, by funding the world's airlines to diseminate via their vapour trails and also get his space force to blast the planet with untraviolet light, Covid 19 will be eliminated in a few weeks.

Lots of gossip in the press this morning about our glorious saviour's return to work and likelihood of a lifting of restrictions. I can't see a major change happening, but they'll probably come up with something small for the forthcoming bank holiday and claim it as a start. I reckon we're on for a slow trudge through the year, with mass gatherings, pubs, and theatres still shut until the autumn at least.

Was reading a pretty interesting article yesterday stating that not one single case of a child under 10 transmitting the virus has been identified. Not just here but in all the contact tracing done by WHO. More study is needed but that would ease things a lot if true and nurseries and primary schools could reopen. Or we could train up all the under tens as key workers.

On the other hand, they’ve found an increase with children being hospitalised with a causes-yet-unknown inflammatory disease which may or may not be linked with Covid.

Yeah, it's really small numbers though they need to find out what's going on. Also there's no suggestion that the virus has mutated to cause this so unlikely that numbers should increase if turns out it is related to Covid in some way.

There were more than one scientist on twitter yesterday debunking this idea that kids can't transmit the virus. Obvs twitter, so obligatory 'grain of salt' notice...

I'll save the link if any of them pop up again.
