Someone in my team at work has it throughout her family. Feeling rough but nothing too serious.
I was in the office with her 6 days ago so I've potentially been directly exposed. I've got a very mild cold at the moment with none of the obvious COVID symptoms, but you never know, that could be it for me or it could just be a coincidence.

You need the numbers of all the mild cases to include them in the mortality calculation. Otherwise if you are only testing hospitalised cases your death rate will look artificially high (hospitalised cases will of course have worse outcome chances than non hospitalised people)
The UK simply doesn't have the data to say anything useful.

Although I've had all the symptoms, I don't know if it's just regular flu. It's not like I mix with many people, but prior to me temporarily shutting the website down, I was making daily trips to the post office, so I could have easily picked something up there.

I had a dry cough and breathing difficulties. but no other symptoms, back to normal now though.
I don't know of anything else going around that causes those specific symptoms, and I don't have any underlying issues which could have caused it.

I'd say it's more than a 50/50 chance I had it, but absolutely not a certainty by any means. I commute into and out of london, on trains and tubes, and always go out the office to pick up lunch, so I come into contact with a lot of strangers everyday.

Some Co Op and M&S stores have got their staff cleaning their card reader keypads every half hour or so, but they've been using some sort of water based spray which is penetrating under the keys and stopping them working. I dare say they aren't the only ones, but they're the only clients for which I'm doing repairs.

Our local Co-op was clean out of milk, had very little bread, no raw meat, very few processed/sliced meats.

Additionally, they're now enforcing distancing between staff and customers at the checkout - they step back from the till, you put your basket on the till, they ask you to step behind a line taped on the floor, they step forward and scan all your stuff, then step back. You step forward, pay on card and then pack your stuff and leave.

I assume with that they've stopped accepting cash payments, although I suppose you could just put it down on the till and step back again while they deal with it.

Just been out for a walk and I think it's starting to sink in for people.
They were noticably leaving clear gaps between each other, and at the One Stop there was a similar shuffle going on without any signs.

Several shops on the high street have gone cashless already. That's one thing that will be a permanent shift once this has all settled down.

I was glad to see places of religious worship aren't considered essential, otherwise my bloody mother-in-law would be off down the temple to pray for us all, and my first proper panic attack was triggered by how crowded those places can be.

It's not, but it's very good for people's physical and mental health and can be done at very low risk. There's basically fuck all chance of passing or catching it walking or running past someone outdoors at a distance of 2 metres.

I have to protect my loved ones. Every one around me is over 70. All of my friends are over 70.

Mum's neighbours are isolating too (both have health conditions) but the guy stepped up and is basically taking me anywhere I need to go in his car. Which helps, a lot. It means I can not only pick up my medications but my mother's. And be there to keep her from going insane (she's got an itchy arse my ma, even approaching 80) and to open her bottles and jars for her. Or she'd be pretty screwed, given she can barely turn on a tap due to her arthritis. I don't know man. It's like people are acting like scolded kids, deliberately doing what they've been told not to "just because".

As I came home in the car earlier I saw loads of kids on those stupid scooters heading for the open air skate park. Like in droves. I wish this virus would target idiots. Sadly it doesn't, so it's like driving a car. Not only do you need to think for yourself but the ton of fucking plums you meet out on the roads.

I won't lie nothing feels different to me. I've been self isolating for ten years any way.

Maybe that should have been "bloody" horse, not bloody mother. I live with my 82 year old mother who I have on lockdown and have done for the past two weeks. I'm in it with her, and possibly for the length of time it takes for a vaccine to emerge. It is going to wipe me out financially as I'm self employed.
