Family Fop is now self isolated owing to me having a cough for the last couple of days.

I'd been WFH for a week before that, which had been fine, but going to be much harder with the kids around, but it could be worse.

I'm quietly relieved that years of taking soap from hotels is finally paying off. My sinks are currently like little museums of my travels.

Forever. It’ll be like the Beex mod elections, but almost as bad

The fun thing is if they did do that, the constitution is very clear that the Speaker of the House would temporarily become President. Given that is Trump’s nemesis Nancy Pelosi, they’re gonna run the election come what may.

Elections are run by the states. For the presidency, it'd be perfectly legal for state legislatures to change their laws to appoint electors for the electoral college themselves.

I thought I'd have a nose online and see when I could book deliveries from either Tesco or Iceland. Tesco is showing April 7th as the earlier and Iceland has nothing at all.

And if you go to Ocado it tells you that your around 6000th in the queue - it will take around 3 hours to get to the website and they don't have any delivery slots anyway

Morrison's have said they're taking on a couple of thousand extra drivers to help meet the increasing demand for home deliveries.

I call shenanigans, no way IOM has a Tesco that size, it's all market stalls and people trading lucky heather on the side of the road, isn't it?

Fun fact, the IOM M&S is the most profitable M&S per square foot in the British Isles. (It's a fair sized one too.)

Tesco has been massively successful here, although I hate going to the place, home deliveries all the way. (Well, in normal times, that is, fuck all slots now of course.)

If it helps - that happened to me ~15 years ago and nothing came of it. I still have a slightly jagged little corner of tooth. Various dentist have looked at it, shrugged, and said "if you're not bothered there's no reason to mess with it."

:this:

I have one that broke pretty badly, but it didn't expose the nerve. It's too badly broken to fill, but there's not enough of the tooth surround for a crown, I was at the dentists just a few weeks ago and she was like, 'Yeah, the nerve is a safe distance away, I'll just grind it down a bit to get rid of the sharp edge, and away you go'.

(There was something else that was a possibility but I really didn't like the sound of it, and since it wasn't bothering me, we just agreed to leave it.)

Basically, if it's not causing pain or interfering with your mouth action and mastication (lol), it's totally OK to just leave them alone.

Our contact centre at work is trialling WFH for 4 hours today (the rest of us have been home all week).
One of the benefits of being a new insurance startup, we've built our tech to allow that to happen in theory, but today is the test!

Message finally came from on-high for everyone who can work from home to do so. Most of us having been self-isolating this week anyway. We've also had a further email asking for descriptions of skills and experience outside our current roles, presumably for back filling if necessary.

On the plus side, I can enjoy for longer the view of my garden from the kitchen window. My bulbs have reappeared for the second spring in a row, proving that something in my garden works, bringing colour and joy.

Helen's place has clarified its policy - no-one working from home until the government makes them.

Don't worry though, they only make a significant percentage of blood tests used by the NHS/contract labs/other countries.

Wait.

Quite a lot of not at abusable powers by an untrustworthy state in the coronavirus bill such as "enable the government to restrict or prohibit events and gatherings during the pandemic in any place, vehicle, train, vessel or aircraft, any movable structure and any offshore installation and, where necessary, to close premises" which will last for two years. So, don't protest brexit.

Full pay for two weeks then the rest statutory. As it stands. They may have to change their stance on that depending on what happens.

Don’t think you’re meant to use aspirin if you have the covids, due to its anti-inflammatory properties.
