All three PCR tests came back negative. Very relieved but also mentally exhausted.

Bojit has announced more restrictions due to Omicron variant, and to review them just before Christmas.

Cue another lockdown over Christmas/in the new year.

Yes, they were hinting that they might be removed in three weeks but if anything it’s more likely to be further controls.

Glad I got my booster today.

It's pretty hard to sell a "1,000 people a week died, and some ambulance crews spent their whole shift waiting outside A&E without a mask mandate, now things are worse so we need masks" and then claim you can remove them, or not escalate. It is odd.

Also odd here in The Netherlands, where the atmosphere is very "give us our freedom". I was here the day before the mask mandate came in, and *no one* in the supermarket I went into wore a mask (though it was then pretty well adhered to). I get the feeling there is some envy of the UK's relative freedom, which is just weird. How we got to (and I quote) "sorry about your (Netherlands') lockdown", rather than 'sorry things are worse so you need more restrictions', I don't know. I don't get the feeling that people mean the latter by the former.

I got my booster yesterday. Had a mild headache about an hour after that was sorted with some paracetamol.

Arm still hurts today though, resulting in a not very restful night's sleep as I sleep on my left generally.

Feel a bit meh today, but that could equally be due to disturbed sleep or the cold.

I've been upgraded to aching all over and I can't stop shivering despite hugging a hot radiator.

I've taken the afternoon off work and plan to spend it under a heated blanket.

No side effects from Moderna beyond a sore arm for me, but Helen was aching all over and feeling quite rough.
She had the same with the original AZ jabs.

Bean was in school two hours when we got a message to say to take him for a PCR test as the kid he sits next to has tested positive, so off we’ve been to the testing site again.

He’s currently bundled up warm and playing Miitopia.

Russell and I have come down ill yesterday, so we have all been tested, and I’m starting to feel steadily worse.

That’s just it, Jem. It’s non-stop. And it’s exhausting. I’m not so much annoyed by it because I’m glad we have been told swiftly, but it makes me all the more annoyed at all of the people being such dickheads about having been asked to wear a mask in the supermarket.

I hope you and Russ are feeling better today Mimi and you all have negative test results.

Will this at least give you a bit of breathing space from your visitors?

I feel much better than yesterday but have a head cold now. I had some meds, but frankly, might just have a nap.

We’re both feeling pretty bad, but it’s just a nasty cold (and our first in a couple of years so it’s hit us pretty badly). I did a LF test this morning as I woke up a unable to taste anything, but it was negative. Just waiting on the PCR tests for confirmation. Bean is pretty bad because he hasn’t had a rest from chest i fe ruins since he went back in September and has had cough after cough for nearly three months. Once I think we had a two (?) day gap between infections.

But we’re fine. It’s just the raving headache and body aches that are getting me down. Plus I had a hot and cold sweat earlier with palpitations, that was horrible, but has passed. Russell is still at work (at home, but working) and I’ve been painting the staircase today, so pushing through it as much as possible.

Definitely, thoigh I think I’m paying for it now. To be fair, I think a lot of people would have taken a sofa & Netflix day, but I’m glad it’s done.

For advent I got a positive lateral flow this morning. Might do one every day of advent.

Also got a can of Honest Brew beer, which I have little appetite for now.

Was feeling quite pleased with myself as I was last-man standing in a COVID-packed house, but I have now fallen. Think this is karmic retribution for how much I was secretly enjoying having a whole of evening of gaming to myself, while Mrs Fop isolated in the other room.

Of course Johnson had a lock-down Christmas party. Probably caused an out-of-schedule photocopier repair too. I'm just surprised it's taken this long to leak.

Absolutely fuck all is going to happen. Same as with the latest revelations about Hancock's dodgy dealings. Holding onto some vague hope that the mass of it all will somehow all add up and become impossible for people to just ignore but that hope is fading tbh.

I was a bit miffed I was not invited to a project launch on Monday, as I had done a lot of work on it.

Unfortunately, 3 people have now tested positive for Covid. Lucky escape, plus I got to go to a pod cast instead, a lot better.

Popped down this morning to the vaccine walk in centre to get the booster. It was a walk in centre from 10am when it openee to 10-15 when they decided it wasn't a walk in anymore. We arrived at 10-16 and left with no booster jab.

I think you can claim some of your claps back now.
