Do I… Get a cheap car about £4…. Pay off quick Get a car about £8/9k and pay off in 3 years. Get a car about £12 and keep for 5 years. Spec… Currently have a GOLF GT MK7. Adaptive Cruise Control Auto hand brake SAT NAV with Traffic Phone Integration Reasonable Boot space. Can seat 4 people. 2.0l Diesel So options Get a MK 7 Golf Get a loan and buy my company car £8k ish Match or GT Possible smaller engine Get a Octavia - not a golf bigger boot, no auto handbrake No adaptive cruise control as standard SAT NAV on some models Something different. Mini too small. Mini Countryman… possible Seat Leon, what options? anything else |

What happens if you leave the company? |

The car allowance stops. The only reason I would leave would be for better money or redundancy. The latter will pay the car off. |

I was very happy with all my Octavias and you can get a decent one for your top budget but you can always change before any loan is fully paid off as the car will still have a healthy value. A Mini does feel a more special place to be but are quite dependent on getting the right spec. I’d go Clubman over Countryman and you’ll get either a 150bhp diesel or 192bhp petrol with sensible mileage in budget. Chilli pack is a must as is either the Media XL or Tech Pack. https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified ... obcid=soc3 |

Can you not just train/taxicab/ hire a car as needed on expenses? Swerves the issue neatly. |

Octavias are great. Like a Golf but cheaper and more boot space. |

Get a Porsche Cayenne - loads of them around for about 7-8k with 70kish on the clock, and you'll make all the other IT people jealous. |
