I can't believe you made that

Oh, I totally just glued a couple of plastic toys inside a bauble and added a few little white balls :DD

There is no artistry at play whatsoever.

The woolly hats ARE just perfect.

There's a nice dollhouse in the shop if anyone's interested though.

Last fish. I’ve got one more insect (which I think is due later this month) and three sea creatures.

My biggest wish would be for a museum extension, maybe in March, a year on, with more fish and insects, etc. That’d be my perfect update.

Happy December 1st people
I was chatting to Mimi so I thought I would also put some info here

maple leaves stopped a few days ago, mushrooms stopped today
it's still acorns and pinecones time untill dec 10th, if you're still looking for diys please let me know
https://villagerdb.com/user/mikic/list/ ... sonal-diys

since the 27th it can snow on our islands in stead of rain, it wont stay on the ground but it will water your flowers and your villagers will look adorable in wooly hats
from dec 11th the snow will actually be on the ground (and everything else) and snowflakes will fly through the air to be caught with nets
they are used for Frozen diys https://www.polygon.com/animal-crossing ... t-seasonal

You will also be able to make snow people and they will give you large snowflakes
https://www.polygon.com/animal-crossing ... ecipe-list

and on dec 15th some of your triangle trees will become decorated and when shaken will give ornaments and these are used for festive diys
https://www.polygon.com/animal-crossing ... ecipe-list

also the dung beetle is listed as december but won't be around until there is snow on the ground

Previous games involved rolling around small snow balls that gained in size as you pick up snow. You then had to make a big body snow ball and a smaller but not too small! snowball for its head, if you got this right your snow man would be happy. Most of the time though the balls would be the wrong size and they tell you how sad their life is...
I do wonder how this will work with most towns not having much grass/snow to roll balls around since the game basically makes you fill your town with furniture and fences.

I think I only managed to make a correctly sized snowman once and I played both the Wii and DS AC games :DD

I have already started panicking about lack of rollable space :S

@Devilman, but also any others with wisdom
Fishing question
is it just me or do rare fish not bite the hook the same way as regular fish?
I know this is vague but I think in the tonnes of bait I've used today (and from fishing before) that there have been stringfish in there but I can't catch them
I know you can't know what you lost
and I know how to fish, I haven't got the 100 in a row achievement, but I got to 66 so I feel like I know how to do it
but even getting the biggest shadows, I got some Pike fine
but some just "feel" different and the thingy doesn't go under water in the same way and the fish just gets away, even if I've pressed A in what feels like the correct moment

any wisdom anyone?
(grrr stringfish)

Hmm, I can't say I've noticed any difference, but then I suppose I might not remember the rare fish (funnily enough, I was stringfish-hunting just now but no joy) among all the others. Often I don't look at the screen anyway and just go from sound.

yeah I've wondered if that is part of my problem as I always play with sound off
but the Stringfish is my last fish so I've done fine on sight with the rest of em

I had a pop up book with sharks today, which was ace. It had ‘deep blue sea’ or something listed as the variant, which makes me think there must be several different ones.

Seasonal Dates and DIYS

Snowflakes & Large Snowflakes Dec 11 - Feb 24
Festive Ornaments Dec 15 - Jan 6
Toy Day Dec 24th
New Year's Eve Dec 31st

https://cestislife.github.io/img/seasonalDIY/winter.png
Tips
• Snowflake DIYs can be obtained from balloons and making a "perfect" snowboy - guide below

https://gamewith.net/animal-crossing-ne ... show/17381

• Festive Cedars must be fully grown before the 15th
• You cannot dig up and move festive cedar trees
• Ornaments are obtained by shaking the tree, these will be the only items to fall
• You will need at least 23 trees (palm and bamboo included, but not fruit) on your island for any cedars to spawn ornaments.

Hi Devilman, I tidied away the crafted mushroom items so as not to clutter up the island, but I left the autumn materials in case anyone still needs them

If anyone needs/wants anything please shout, I had an opportunity via Reddit to catalog all the toys in all the colours

there is a girl who has an island she opens for all the discord people and I do "housekeeping" rounds :DD
but Flump is very tidy anyways, so I just look after the sharing bit

I mean yawn only in that I’m tired because I put it on especially early. Never mind. My black roses have swarmed all over so I’m going to make a bin and do some tidying.

To celebrate snow day I have sent out another round of art
as usual bla bla https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... sp=sharing

its is getting really hard to get everyone what they need as they are more and more rare pieces
so probably rather then waiting a long time I will start sending one per person in stead of two

quick heads up, you need at least 23 non-fruit trees on your island to get christmas trees on the 15th
only triangle trees that are fully grown on the 15th can be turned into christmas trees

other stuff I have learned
snowballs can be in the middle of a flower field, they dont count flowers as obsticles you can just roll your snowball right through them

if a snowboy is perfect he will give you a diy straight to your nookphone, other players on your island can talk to the same perfect snow boy and also get a diy!

the snow peeps look adorable when they melt a bit, and a perfect one will give you another large snowflake the next day

you can only do 1 a day, so if you haven't yet, make sure you catch the dung beetle before you roll your snowballs into snowboys

a second player can make a second snowboy

they last 4 days and you can't destroy it to try again, but timetraveling backwards dissapears all snow folks

I hope everyone is having fun!

I haven't found a single snowball yet, and I even put loads of furniture away and dug up flowers (before reading miki's very helpful post!) I have searched my whole island :S

The snowball spawning seems a bit erratic. Yesterday I had two appear, but lost them both and I read they're supposed to reappear if you go into a building, but no luck. Today it seems to be behaving better, although I only seemed to start with one. I deliberately broke that one, went into a building and when I came out, two were in an area I'd specially cleared to give me a bit of room.

That meant I could get the dung beetle to finish the bug collection off. And after several hours of fishing this week, I finally have the Stringfish too.

yay Devilman!!

about the snowballs, I hear people say that they are not spawning and it's such a shame that we can't help eachother because they don't spawn when the gate is open so we can't help eachother look
on my island there are a few places where they spawn and the two snowballs are reasonably close together, although sometimes a dung beetle carries one off
I found one on the beach once and I don't think it spawned there
I just hope you will find some Jem!

I notice that mine always spawn in the same area, where I have a big, empty space, so could they perhaps be struggling to spawn if there’s not enough clear space?
