Pascal only pops up if you find a scallop. I kept my first for the museum, then gave him the second (for a mermaid recipe) then caught a third, which he didn’t appear for

Ah, I was just on Flump! Sorry I missed you! I swam a lap of the island as I fancied a swim in the sun as it’s stormy on Sheppey today.

DM, I popped a few recipes just outside of the main area the other day, only as a lot of them weren’t the same old standard ones (log this and wood that) and I thought maybe anyone popping by could more easily look through the ‘new’ ones. Similarly today I’ve put any ‘standard’ ones in the main like, but the one that doesn’t appear very often (tropical vista) I’ve laid just outside the main area, just in case anyone wanted a quick look at the newer ones).

Thank you, @miki, I’d love to but I’m just turning off now as Darwin has asked to read his book to me xx

I completely forgot it was the update today (and had left the game running) so did my normal morning rounds and didn't play with any of the new bits - doh!

I was having a little late session last night and at 1am, a little notification appeared in the top-left saying there'd be system maintenance at 2am which reminded me that I should close the game fully so the game could update while I slept :D

Just reading "1am" makes me feel tired - think I am officially old :DD

I'll leave my gate open for an hour or in case anyone wants to pop by and grab a recipe from Celeste. I got the Nova Light recipe from her so I've crafted a spare of those in case anyone wants to pick that up too. I'm not at the Switch at the moment, but feel free to stargaze too.. only seen a few myself though.

Miki, you're amazing. Thanks for all (ALL!) the recipes over the last few weeks. :luv:

It's been raining for three straight days on my island :( At least the beetles and cicadas don't mind the rain.

Call me suspicious, but the timing of me paying off my final mortgage loan and Tom Nook encouraging me to swim in actual shark infested waters seems a bit more than a coincidence.

You're very welcome1 I like helping out :)

I have had so much rain in the last few weeks
I know it shouldn't matter for enjoying the game, but it's starting to get me down
everything looks drab and it's lost the summer feeling
yesterday morning for a little while it was sunny and there was swimming and it was so lovely
but before lunch it became dark grey clouds again and started pouring and didnt stop

and I'm having zero luck with the coconut tree bugs and the time slot critters are making me feel pressured

/end complain - normal cheerful service will resume soon

I assumed he didn't appear if you were on someone else's island as I caught two scallops and he didn't appear. Plus I'm not sure how his little animation where he sidles out of view would work if someone else was nearby. I've only caught three scallops altogether though, so it's not exactly a thorough test :)

Oh, if you follow him he’ll just keep swimming until you are stopped by the rope boundary. I swam alongside him the width of my island earlier (not to harass him, I just happened to be going that way :D). That’s a shame that you can’t meet up with him on other islands, but also stops you getting the mermaid set too quickly, I guess.

I just caught that giant clam thing. I was chasing it for about ten minutes. So fast!

@devilman would it be ok if I look through your fossil store to see if you have any bits for Russell’s boss? He’s missing a few but only has me as an AC contact so is still after these last few.

Saying 'that is all' I feel diminishes that little fossil's achievements.

It's the little poop that could.

Thanks DM, I’ve picked those up for him. Much appreciated.

@Cras I’ve got a small coprolite somewhere. It’s not the most showy of fossils, but it’s one of the first fossils I learned about in my fossil book as a kid.

I got my wet suit but it vanished! I put it in storage to keep safe and then went to look for it and it ... had gone. I had another item (although I can't remember what that was now) disappear on me like that. Has that happened to any of you? I've looked more than once to no avail.

I hope you're having a good weekend so far :luv:

That’s happened to me a few times, Abiele, but I’ve come to the conclusion that I must have mistakenly sold something a couple of times because otherwise I cannot fathom what might have happened.

Thank you @miki, they are very special to me. A friend had the Trilobite knitting needle gauge made for me, too, and I’ve got a few bits of trilobite jewellery, and now I have an AC collection, too!

THREAD GATECRASH.

Mrs Hearthly was adamant that her wet suit had disappeared earlier, and I was like, 'Nintendo games don't tend to have bugs such as that in them' and she was giving it 'But it's vanished!', so I said 'You're probably not looking in the right place' and so on. (I'd have helped if I could but I know nothing about the game and have not played it at all.)

Thanks for helping her find it miki, she is much cheerier now! :)

(Currently swimming around with her wet suit on and very pleased with it all.)

I finally found my first pearl this evening and used it to craft a mermaid table. I can't imagine the mermaid stuff really fitting in with the rest of my stuff, so I'll just craft bits and leave it for others to pick up.

Also, has anyone had Pascal appear more than once on the same day?

Just caught one of those too (the Gigas one?). Had to wait till it cornered itself in the upper right of the map before I could get near it!
